In December, I am flying with DD who will be 1 year. This will be her 3rd flight, but both previous times DH was with me to help with everything. I'm a little nervous going it alone and wonder if you all have any tips on how to make this trip easier. Thank you!!
Re: flying alone w/ 12 month old
Ask for help from everyone.
When DD was 8 months old I flew with her from CA to NY alone. It was a challenge. Little old ladies on the plane offered to hold her while I got situated. One of the flight attendants held her while I was getting off. The pilot carried the carseat on and off every plane. I found so many people that were willing to help out.
Also bring lots of toys, snacks, drinks, etc to keep her busy. And new things are better then bringing the same old toys. And if you allow DD to watch tv and have something you can bring for her to watch that will help you a lot.
Next week I'm flying from CA to NY with both of my kids alone. I am not looking forward to it. My Dad actually offered to fly here the day before we left and then fly back with us in order to help me out. It was so tempting, but in the end I said no. It will be a difficult time, but it will be over and we'll be at my parents.
