30 day shred= no weight loss yet :(

So I am only on day 6 but I have not loss a pound.  in fact I have put on two!  I just want to fit back into my old clothes and I'm not seeing that happen anytime soon.

If anyone else did the 30 day shred when did you notice your weight loss?

  • I did 30DS pre pregnancy and never lost weight from it, I gained muscle though. Good luck!

  • I did a full 30 days of the shred a few years ago and was running 3-5 miles 5 times a week on top of the video.  I didn't lose any weight at all, but toned up a lot and my body composition changed quite a bit.  If you keep at it you should definitely see results in the way your clothes fit and the way your body feels.  Make sure you're eating a well balanced, healthy diet as well. Good luck! :)
  • I didn't lose weight doing the 30 Day Shred, I did it in January and by February I had joined a gym and now I'm down 36 pounds by doing a lot of cardio.

I will say that, going from couch to 30 Day Shred helped me a lot in the beginning to get off my butt and start working out. It was the jump start it gave me to get back into my running routine.

  • Most weight loss is a function of diet. Exercise just helps you burn more calories. A lot of times people overestimate the number of calories they burn in a workout and eat more than they need due to increased hunger or the feeling that they've earned it. So basically, it you're having trouble losing weight, look at your diet. One thing that really helped me put my caloric input and output in perspective was the GoWearFit, this device you wear that measures the number of calories you burn. It's the same thing as the BodyBug that 24-Hour-Fitness plugs. Hope that helps.

I agree. Its all about what you eat and how much. I prefer weight watchers online to track what I eat. Thats my biggest problem....eating too much. It is crazy once you actually start to measure the portions. I was eating waaaay to much.  Anyway, I lost 15lbs in 3 mths on WW just by changing what I ate and how much. Add exercise and you will lose even more!

    Good luck!
