Cosco play yard smells bad?

I've barely used it and always had the waterproof pad and sheet on it when I let DD in it. The mattress smells like vomit. Not like baby spit, like grown up vomit. WTH?! Has anyone had this happen? Any tricks to make it better? I tried Febreeze. Can I get a replacement mattress for it? I don't want to buy a new one but I can't handle the smell and don't want DD to have to sleep in it.

    never had that problem, but you can leave it outside in the sun. the fresh air and sun should help.

    Is it waterproof or not? Spritz with white vinegar and then put it out in the sunshine for a day or two.
