This weekend/last night I learned that the last two of my roommates (from my college and roommate days) are both now pg. Not a big surprise, since I'm 34. I'm very happy for them, but then they both felt the need to go into great depth complaining to me about what it means for them (their careers, lifestyles), and they know exactly what we've been/are going through. Nice.
I think they thought we were just commiserating about our situations together, but as you can imagine I have a hard time feeling very bad for them, as they just seem like they aren't mentally prepared for even minimal change/sacrifice for whatever reason.
I'm starting to think there should be a mandatory waiting period for getting pg, so noone ever takes it for granted. Man IF blows...
Thankful for every day
Re: who's with me? last woman standing...

A very fortunate thing about living in Manhattan....
Most people wait till they are a bit older for kids. I am 34, and have a lot of unmarried friend still. Many of my friends don't have kids yet, which is really nice for our IF situation.
DH is from the south, very different. His friends all have kids, and their wives are much younger than i am. I got married when I was 32, and they were telling me to "get on it". Ironically we are MFI, so my age isn't a factor...but I get a few questions about my "old eggs" everytime we see his college crew. Super fun
I can totally relate. A lot of my friends don't have kids yet either, though there has been a huge wave lately (including the roommate who now lives in Manhattan). My DH is from India, where we would be expected to have had several by now...
I would lose it with the "old eggs" comment, I would tell them you have super eggs.

Last yr we went to a wedding of DH's friend. He was 35 and married a 26 yr old girl. Nite of the RD, she tells me she is off the pill and will ovulate on their honeymoon...also odd bc we aren't tight LOL. Well, that 1 cycle was a BFP.
They have a 5 month old baby and are already trying for number 2. She is VERY concerned about my old eggs. I had to bite my tongue a few time!!!
What a peach!!

Even though I am 39, I have several friends without children for various reasons. One of the benefits of living in a big city, I guess.
On the opposite side of the fence, I grew up in a very small town and some of my high school classmates that have friended me on FB are grandparents. Yep, they are grandparents and I am TTC #1.
Def one of the last in our circle. We just met a new couple this past year that are like our only childless friends. We find ourselves wanting to make plans with them more and more!

I'm 31, DH is 4 months younger than me. Of course, most of his friends are married to ladies a little younger than me too.
We are pretty much the only married couple in our group w/o kids.
I got married at 28-which was later than most of my friends (from a small town east of Cincinnati).
Most of our friends are having # 2 now. My BF is newly pg with #3!
It's so sad that I don't even want to hang out with large groups of friends anymore b/c it makes me so sad.

If you're still standing, then I'm impressed. It really sucks when you feel surrounded by everyone else and their cute baby bumps and precious little families.
Not to trump you by any means - just perspective, but I'm 42. A couple of my friends that had children really young are already grandparents. UGH.
After 5.5 years of loss, heartbreak, and empty arms, our dreams were fulfilled through the beautiful, selfless gift of adoption. We are amazingly blessed!

Girly, I agree completely.
And NO, you are not the last one standing . . . I wish no one was standing in that place.

9.10.11-My beautiful Boys arrive unexpectedly at 28 weeks, 6 days.
Me, me, me, me. My sister, SIL and all my first cousins except for a guy who is 10 years younger have all started and/or completed their families. The high school and college friends I kept in touch with also have children. I am expecting to receive a pregnancy announcement from a friend who got married in May because I know she and her DH are now TTC. DH's first cousin announced that she expects to be pregnant in April because that's when they are going to start TTC (and I'm sure she will);
I feel that not only am I the last person standing among my friends and family but I will be the last person standing on the IF board. I've been TTC for 2 1/2 years an due to DH's initial reluctance and then his near life ending accident, I haven't even seen a RE yet. Our issue is MFI but that does not mean that I also don't have fertility issues. Given his insistence on going away on an adventure vacation in May, the earliest I can even begin an IVF cycle is June or July, so even under the best case scenario I'll be waiting another 10 months.
