1st time Trying Femera

hi Smile

i've been put on Femera for the 1st time.

i went on the pill for 10 days to bring on a period, then Femera (2 pills) on days 3-7.

today is CD#16 and I havent ovulated yet

i've always had problems with ovulation as my periods have always been everywhere. I also have PCOS.

just wondering if anyone else has done Femera.

right now i have a folicle that is a 20 and maybe a 10(might be a cycst)

we havent decided if we are doing IUI yet or jsut natrual intercourse

anyone out there have input?? ideas??

what shuld my levels be at?

im doing blood work everyday and ultrasound everyother.

yesterday my estrodile was at 6hundred something

anyone know where it should be?

am i ever going to ovulate Tongue Tied

im so nervous this time around. we had done clomid with inections and IUI last year without success. so im very nervous

any imput would be great...stories..anything so i know im not alone

I did 3 months of Femara and usually I'd trigger when I was around 20 so I think you are close. I pesonally Oed early on Femara but I've read lots of other posts on the board that people O later on Femara. My RE also told me that Femara was not a drug they expected a huge ovarian response on - that one or two follies was the expectation. Good luck.

that is waht i heard as well...

femera doesnt give as many foliciles...it picks one or 2 of the best ones, which im fine with.

i jsut remember being on clomid and doing blood work and ultrasouds for a month...it drove me to drink..it was crazy...

they said today taht it looks like in the next couple of days something sould happen. im just very nervous.... i dont know if i should try iui or just naturally.

im also jsut scared of being disappointed ......again....

I don't know your history so I don't want to give any advice and be completely off, but I will tell you my experience.

I did 2 rounds of Femara and I am in the middle of my 3rd Femara cycle. The first cycle I was on 5mg (2 pills a day) and my follicles werent large enough to trigger so we did try on our own but BFN.

The 2nd round I took 7.5mg and I had 3 follicles and 2 were of decent size..I think 16 and 18 so my RE had me trigger the following morning and along with timed intercourse we conceived our daughter. Unfortunately we suffered a late loss, but it was due to an infection and nothing to do with the Femara, it's believed.

I just took the last dose of 7.5mg last night for this cycle and my U/S is Saturday. Hopefully the same thing will work for us again, only with a better outcome this time!!

My first round of femara I had two follies and then for my last cycle only had one but as the PP said, this is the typical response as it's one of the less aggressive stims.

I am in the same boat. I have PCOS and don't ovulate every cycle. I start Femara tonight. I am scared, but excited to get start.
I have to have a HSG on the 20th...not looking foward to that!!

well like i said earlier...this is my firt time on femera..and its already been better then the nightmare i had on clomid.

yesterday my follie was at 20 its been growing by 3 every other day.. so now at day 15 it was at 20...so if they ultrasound tommorwo we will se waht its at.

i did have one show up at 10..but htey think that might be a cyst. dont know.

im jsut getting very anxious with all of this.

you guys talk about trigger???? is that something your dr gives you when your about to ovulate??

i asked to day and they think i will all by myself in the next couple of days..

i jsut thought by now they would have done something to have me go since it is at 20..i thought htat was a good size????

as you can tell from my siggy..i have a 3.5 year old son i concieved on my own..(didnt know i was pregant even...until my annual physical i found out i was at 13 weeks along)

havent prevented in all this time an nothing.....until May of this year...after complaining of really bad pains..found out in emergency room that i was pregnant... and probably about 10 weeks along.

eneed up a etopic which was mis diagnoised and almost killed me.

both pregancis were concieved without a period..so thats how messed up my mestral cycles are...

i do howerver noitce alot of the clear eggwhite discharge ...alot the past 2 days.

i wonder if i should jsut bd'ing.....hummmm

all this stuff is just so much....

its awsome that i have found others i can now talk to

The Trigger I talk about is what causes me to ovulate, actually release the eggs. It's a script that my Dr. gives me or calls in for me in advance so that when my egg is mature (20 is mature) I give myself the shot in the stomach and I personally do timed intercourse. The Dr tells me exactly when we need to BD and how often.

I am actually taking my first round of Femara too. I had ovarian drilling due to PCOS in August bc Clomid didn't work. After the drilling, I tried Clomid again but on CD 12, my follicles were measuring only 5. So my RE started me on Femara 5mg and I have to go back again in 9 days and see if they are bigger. It definitely is a roller coaster. I don't know why they didn't try Femara prior to the surgery. I guess it wouldn't have worked bc I had too many cysts. As far as bloodwork..I haven't had any recently. My doc always goes by the transvag US. I wonder if I should be? Good luck to you!! Keep me posted on how things go.

how is the dr keeping an eye on your estrodile and stuff if he isnt doing blood work?

i have been doing blood work for 2 weeks now... every day... today its at a bit over 800 she thinks ill be peaking today...

now its the decision of IUI or intercourse at home....

now im getting nervous BIG TIME

well ladies

i went for my IUI this morning...and man was i nervous

why?? i have no idea... just want it so bad i guess...

so now i begin the 2 week wait...how neve racking is this..

dr said they caught me right at the beginning of the surge which is good..my lining is good too..so now we just pray, keep busy and wait
