Every night for the past week or so I've been feeling an intense stretching sensation to the left of my belly button. It's ridiculously painful!
Is anyone else getting this, and any ideas on how to soothe the skin?
*I've been very lucky to not get any stretch marks yet, and I think this may be the beginning of the end of that!
Re: Can you feel your skin stretching?
YES. It's the weirdest feeling isn't it? No suggestions on soothing the skin...except just for maybe some lotion or something...
I haven't gotten any new stretchmarks (have a bunch from my previous pregnancy) but I think the ones I have already are just getting irritated again...
I've been using the thickest creams (not lotions) I can find. DH filled my christmas stocking with tons of travel sized creams and lotions last year, so they're finally being put to use. This keeps me from being overly itchy and stretched-out feeling.
As for stretch marks themselves, I have them on one of my hips (one??) and all over both boobs. I honestly believe there's nothing I can do/could have done about them.

[spoiler]
My tummy feels as if it's a tight drum head trying to get stretched out. It's worse at night, though, but to be expected. The strangest feeling is my belly button. Depending on were the LO is, it feels as if it's going to pop open. My former innie is turning into an outie (more along the line of a turkey timer, lol!).
I've been using boby creme from Bath and Body work twice a day to keep my tummy moisterized, otherwise it'll be annoyingly itchy. I'm hoping I don't get stretch marks. I haven't seen any at this point, except for my boobs, but nowhere else at this stage.

Don't you fret, I'm not trying to prevent them and I feel the same way. If they show up, they show up. The only person who is ever going to see them is DH, and I'd like to think he's not going judge me for them. He actually has them too -- he lost 65 pounds after his divorce, so his tummy is covered in them. I call them his battle wounds from that relationship.
