I delivered out of RO Beaumont and will be doing so again with #2. I had a wonderful experience. The nurses were friendly and helpful; I couldn't have asked for better.
I feel like I am constantly on here raving about RO Beaumont:) LOVED my experience there. Nurses are absolute angels. My dd spent two weeks in the NICU and we still take the nurses treats and thank yous all the time. So grateful to them for taking such excellent care of both her and me. I had a really, really hard time while I was still in the hospital (I was there for 6 days total- 2 before delivery, the big day, then 3 after) and the nurses were so incredibly caring and understanding while I was dealing with those raging hormones, constant tears, a preemie in the NICU, and some serious panic attacks:)
So bottom line- just can't say enough good things. The only tip I have is to bring lanolin to the hospital with you if you plan to breastfeed! Oh and they are a very pro-breastfeeding hospital so don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. And keep asking! If you don't plan to bf, don't let anyone make you feel bad about it (in the hospital or otherwise)!
GL and let me know if you have more specific questions.
I delivered DS at RO Beaumont and I'll delivery any future children there as well. I had a great experience. Of course there was one "odd" nurse, but she was friendly. I thought they were attentive and took good care of us and DS. My SIL drove from Farmington Hills to deliver @ RO Beaumont, all 3 kids! I think you'll have a good experience!
I delivered both my kids at RO Beaumont. I also spent 10 weeks of bedrest there and my daughter was in their NICU. I totally recommend it as well. Overall, I had a great experience both times. There will always be a few bad apples, there was one postpartum nurse who was just horrible (you will find that everywhere though). I had a ton of complications post delivery with my son and I still recommend delivering there. A couple of their rooms have wireless toco monitors. I loved that becuase it made getting up to the bathroom a lot easier during labor. Ask if you can have a room with that when you go in.
FYI- I got a bunch of free samples of medela lanolin from the LC there so I didn't need to bring any.
I work at RO Beaumont. I hope you won't be disappointed. My sister has delivered all 3 of her children there. My Best friend works for another Health Care System and picks Beaumont so she can deliver there. I don't know anyone that has complained about the L&D or NICU care. HTH. Feel free to PM me!
