Docs office and formula?

Do you get formula at your doc visits? Or ask for some. I know my pedi has formula but they never give it out. What are they holding on to it for? Dont they get it free?

    They gave us a bunch of samples at his 2nd appointment, but that's it.

    DD had some digestion issues so we had to switch formulas a few times when she was first on formula. They gave us a bunch of bottles when we were trying out a new formula, but have not since then. I bet they hold on to it for that reason - to give when babies need to try a new type of formula.

    we get formula at the docs office at pretty much every visit. Either they offer or we ask. They told us right when DS was born that if they forget to mention formula at every visit so we do.

    do you ask for it and they say no?
