Stink bugs are taking over my house!!!!

Ugh...I hate it!  They really showed up this weekend.  There was one in my breast pump bag, scared the crap out of me.  He said he saw one in the kitchen, then one flew on him.

I'm scared of bugs period...now I'm afraid to go home.  I know I sound ridiculous, but I have a serious fear of bugs.  H works nights, so it's just me and LO tonight.  Please bugs, stay out of my house today...PLEASE!

  • They totally invaded my ILs house too. I totally have a ridiculous fear of bugs too, so I feel your pain. I freak when I'm home alone and there's a bug.

My mom always tells me to spray bugs...I'm too afraid to do that as well.  We ended up staying at my moms last night because there was one in the bathroom.

  • Oh gosh! I feel for you! I found one in the car last night. Eck!

I actually thought after that big rain storm we had the other week, they were wiped out. I guess not. Sad

  • I heard on the radio spray them with soapy water, use dish soap.  I have only seen a few at our house but there was a lot at our rental property because it was empty so long they took over, ick!!!

You have to get close to spray them though :(  My parents travel full-time & are out in Thurmont right now.  My mom got tired of spraying the house & getting soapy water on everything so she's resorted to keeping an open container of soapy water to throw them into (but that also means getting close & catching them).

Another thing you can do is to vacuum them up (just empty the container outside!).

Thanks for the suggestions ladies.  I heard about the vacuum thing, but not about the soapy water.  Thing is, I'm too afraid to do any of that.  I'll have to tell H about the soapy water.  Ultimately, I need them gone from my house and to never return.

Ridiculous, but I went to my mom's house last night about 8pm.  LO was screaming in the backseat because it was his bed time.  I was going to get him ready for bed, but there was one in the bathroom...no bath time.

  • I can lend you my dog Wink We are really lucky that we do not have a problem with them because our dog, Perry, likes to swallow them whole! It's really strange, but definitely beneficial to us.

    Good luck!

  • FIL catches them and flushes them down the toilet. NMS because it involves touching them, but it works.

Ask him if he can stay at my house while H is at work?  LOL...I'm kidding.
