I'm getting paid to shop!

My MIL started being a 'Mystery shopper' earlier this year to earn some extra income. She was telling me all about last week & I thought I may as well sign up and give it a go.

I got my first 3 "assignments"' today! So finally I can get paid to do what I love, shopping!!!!!

*** Jaxy I think  you should do this too!!!!

  • I'm getting the feeling that being a mystery shopper out there is way cooler than it is here...   Here you barely ever get assignments, and when you do they usually require you to spend a certain amount (say $50) but then they only pay you $20, so it definitely doesnt even out.  Especially when you're buying things you wouldnt normally need or purchase.

Really? That's pretty lame. Here if you have to pay anything out of your pocket you are reimbursed fully. One of my assignments is to go to a Boost Juice & order a regular size juice and they give you an extra $15 to cover it!  I just joined this week & I already have 3 assignments, my MIL however has only ever done 2. I guess it depends on where you live as to where you can shop.

You can decline the assignments too if you want - my MIL declined one that she would have got $100 to go on a test drive at a car dealers as she didn't feel comfortable. Anyway, can't do any harm, so I will give it a go for awhile.

  • How cool! I saw one on CL for a one time thing, but they wanted to meet me and cut apart of my windshield wipers, deflate a tire and one other thing, then have me take my car to a Volvo fix it shop to see if they caught those items. Then they would reimburse me for the repairs and give me $100. I didn't feel comfortable with them messing with my car so declined. Hopefully you get some fun assignments!

  • Mystery shopping can be a lot of fun if you have the extra time to do it. I did a lot of mystery shopping assignments about 4 years ago; I was working part time and could fit it into my schedule. Once I started working full time it was too difficult to fit the assignments into my schedule. I still receive e-mails for available shops and I will take a restaurant shop on once in awhile just because I get paid to go out to eat and that is hard to pass up. I live in a small community so I think that it was easier for me to get assignments because I don?t have a lot of competition. Good luck and have fun.

I would remind others out there looking to get into mystery shopping to never pay a fee to get involved in mystery shopping. With time and energy you can find assignments on your own.
