Sorry ladies, another update on my not having a period since April post. I'm pretty tired of it myself. I had my appointment today with a new doctor for a 2nd opinion. I really liked this new doctor. Since I was a new patient she wanted to meet me in her office vs. an exam room which was nice. She really explained to me how the ovaries work and what mine might not be doing. She took the time to explain everything clearly, again very nice.
She reviewed my blood test results from the last doctor and she agreed that everything was normal. She said she wanted me to take progesterone, and I told her I had already taken it for 10 days about 2 monthss ago and nothing. She seemed shocked that nothing had happened. She thought I should try it again, so I have a prescription for another 5 days worth. She also is having me go in for a pelvic ultrasound. I wasn't able to schedule a time that works until after we get back from vacation in 2 weeks. The doctor thinks I might have polycystic ovary syndrome from the hormone changes of going off bcp. However, I don't have a lot of the major symptoms that are usually seen with polycystic ovary syndrome so she wasn't totally sure if that was it. If the ultrasound comes back normal and the progesterone doesn't get my system back on track she wants me get an MRI to check my pituitary gland. She thinks something may be blocking my brain signals to my ovaries.
And there you have it, any extra ovary vibes with this 2nd round of progesterone would be much appreciated
Re: Missing AF 2nd opinion appt.
lots and lots of vibes to you!!
I dont' know about you, but once I started researching the potential effects of the bcp after coming off, I was pretty angry that the information isn't more readily available. It seems dr's just perscribe it as though it's this great thing and once you want to get pregnant all you have to do is get off - when in reality many have at least some sort of adjustment period - for you unfortunately it's been this, for me it's been a week of bleeding/spotting before my real period. I wish information was more readily available to young women getting on the pill. That's enough of my bcp vent!

Yes! Exactly!
Yes, I'm on the pills and thanks for shedding light on this. I will talk to my doctor if they don't work again.
