For ladies who have GD or especially those with a diagnosis on a previous pregnancy: how soon after diagnosis did your doc start doing growth ultrasounds? How often did you get the growth ultrasounds? If your doc determined that you needed to be induced early, when did he or she make that determination? How far along were you when you got induced?
Sorry for all the questions!
Re: GD - Growth Ultrasound
I am insulin dependent GD and I normally have 2 growth ultrasounds around 33-34 weeks and again at 38 weeks. I do start getting two NST's a week at 30 weeks. They induce me at 39 weeks. This is my third GD pregnancy. My first was not GD and he was 7lb 10oz at 40w2d. My 2nd and 3rd were 9lb10oz and 9lb 5oz at 39w. I have a feeling this baby may end up being a C-section.
I was insulin dependent with DD (and am again this time). Diagnosed 1st time around 24 wks and had an u/s every month plus NSTs weekly starting around 30 wks, I think.
This time diagnosed at 14 wks and have no idea when they'll start the extra testing since I haven't even had my 20 wk u/s yet. I imagine I'll find out next week since that will be my first visit with the OB after my diagnosis and starting insulin.
ETA: 1st time around, I was slated to be induced at 39wks as soon as I started insulin, otherwise it would've been 40wks. Baby started measuring big, so they wanted to induce at 37wks. My gut said they were wrong, and they were. Waited until 39 wks and DD was 6 lb 11 oz - petite. Since I ended up with a c/s after 28 hrs of labor last time, I'm going with a scheduled c/s this time. We'll schedule it at my 22wk appointment.
I have type 1, not GD, but my first growth u/s was today (27w) and I will have them every month / 4 weeks ish, until I deliver (unless they decide I should come more often).
I have a c/s scheduled for 38w2d for this pg. With DD, they induced at 36w5d due to failing a NST and pregnancy induced high blood pressure. If all was fine, I would have not been induced until 38w4d or so.
I haven't had one scheduled yet and my OB hasn't mentioned one. I think my fundal height is only measuring a week to two weeks ahead at this point, which he says is fine. I was diagnosed mid-August. I started weekly NST's last week.
I should add that I'm insulin dependent for fasting numbers.
