Re: ***Third Trimester Check-In***

  • Yes  I had a great weekend with our nieces.  We painted pumpkins on Saturday and walked for our local Humane League's annual Tailwagger's Trot on Sunday.  Best part was I was on my feet two days in a row outside and it was warm and I had no swelling.  I was super good about drinking my water!

No Despite my tiring weekend I got no sleep last night and I am exhausted.

    QOTW:

BR: We took a Bradley class because we were interested in natural birth and it seemed to be the class that took DH's role the most seriously.  He's been really involved and I'm glad we took it.

NBR: Not sure-but maybe just anything without an elastic waist band. Although I do have to say I love my maternity pants.

  • We have an appt for 10/13 for a biophysical profile/OB exam to see how my body is doing for induction.

Up - getting to see if I am making progress now, all this time I have been praying for no progress!

Down - I can't think of many downs, except I have  been taken off bedrest but I feel like doing nothing b/c I am so sore LOL

    QOTW:

BR: All we went to was Newborn Basics (worthless at the one we went too) and Infanty Safety/CPR (loved it!). I missed the breastfeeding class b/c I was put on bedrest and we opted out of the Childbirth Class. It was from 9-4 on a Saturday and everyone who went to it told us it was more aimed at people doing a med free birth. I will let you know if we end up regretting not going LOL :)

NBR: Fall/Winter Clothes!! Being in Texas we only get like 2 months we can wear winter clothing. I love all things fall/winter, sweaters, skinny jeans with boots, scarves!

  • Yes 4-7 weeks left.  Or, rather, more likely 4-6 weeks left.  Yay.  Got some laundry done yesterday too, so I actually, finally feel like we're preparing for BABY!

No  My SPD is acting up, I can't eat without major reflux, and I'm swiftly hitting my pregnancy wall.  And while 4-6 weeks doesn't seem like much, it feels like an eternity right now.

BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why?

Nope.  No class. This is baby #3 for us.  I feel practiced in both birthing and breastfeeding, so there wasn't really anything for us to do still, you know?

NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over?

I'm not sure.  Another pair of skinny jeans, maybe.  Stick out tongue I miss my skinny jeans.

  • Yes I had a great, relaxing weekend with DH.  It was nice to spend time together, watch football and read.

No  I'm getting more and more restless being stuck at home all the time.  It is so beautiful outside and I wish I could enjoy it more.

BR:  We did the regular hospital class, which was sort of informative.  It wasn't great for the actual birthing tips but was good because we learned about the hospital's policies and such.  We are doing the Hypnobabies home study course now and I am almost done reading the Bradley book (but didn't do Bradley classes).  I think it might all be overkill, but I just want to feel prepared.

NBR:  So many things!!!!!  But, I think mostly great dresses and heels.  It will be so nice to feel sexy again (hopefully!).

  • Woohoo!! I am in the third tri!

    Noelle, EDD 1.8.2011, Team Green!

Yes Time seems to be flying!  I can't believe it. I feel like instead of counting up the weeks, we're now counting down the weeks we have left.

No I'm working night shift until after I go back from having LO.  I hope I can handle it.  Tonight is the first night and I'm just all kinds of bummed about it!

BR: We haven't taken any classes yet, and I am letting DH decide if he wants to since I'm an L&D and nursery nurse.  He wants to take the newborn class that my hospital offers, so we'll do at least that!!

NBR:  Shoes!  I had read in so many places that your shoe size can change, so I haven't bought any.  And I really want to!!

  • Up: DH finally cleaned out all of his crap from the room that will be our nursery. Just in time for it to fill back up after our shower this coming Saturday!

Down: I snissed for the first time this weekend. It totally caught me off guard, but at least I was at home...

BR: We took the Bradley series of classes. Our birth center required that we take them, and I'm mostly glad we did. I had done so much research about natural birth (our goal) before taking the classes, that I didn't feel that I learned a ton, but it was good for DH.

NBR: Ugh, I'm feeling so fat right now, it doesn't seem like I'll ever fit in to non-maternity clothes. If I ever lose this weight, it will be nice to be able to wear some of my cute heeled shoes without my feet feeling like they are going to fall off.

  • Baby is officially vertex - yayyy!  And I start weekly appointments this week.  This is really going to happen!

Yes I got a lot of preparations done this past week - baby laundry, nursery clean-up and unpacking of new stuff, etc.  My hospital bag is almost done, too.

No I've been feeling a lot of lower pelvic pressure this week.  I know it's normal, but I'm bummed that I have that to look forward to for a few more weeks.

BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why?  We went to a 4-session class at the hospital.  We just wanted the basic rundown on the labor process, a tour of the labor deck and post-partum areas, and to learn some relaxation techniques.  It was pretty well done.

NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over?  I really haven't gained much weight, so I was kind of hoping I'd need slightly smaller clothes after a couple months of breastfeeding.  But, we'll see if that pans out.

2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!

  • Yes  We finished the nursery yesterday!

No  Our smaller dog has finally realized something is going on and he does NOT like it.  He's been acting out a bit and I don't know what to do with him to reassure him that everything will be ok.

    QOTW:
BR- We took a series of 4 classes at the hospital and they were completely worthless (other than the hospital tour).  We ended up skipping the last class because everything we were learning was things we had already read in books.  We also took a breastfeeding class and that was extremely helpful.  I feel much more confident about BF after attending it.

NBR- Anything I can buy at a non-maternity store!  Every time I walk past JCrew at the mall I am jealous of people who can wear the cute fitted clothes on the mannequins.

  • Yes After a brief hospital stay we found out that I don't have pre-E.

No I have a terrible cold and can't take anything but tylenol.

BR:  We took the childbirth class at our hospital.  I think my husband got more out of it than I did but I am glad we went.  He didn't really read anything in preparation for birth but at least he knows what to expect now.

NBR:  I am looking forward to a new pair of jeans!  I have kind of been looking but that is always my favorite fall purchase.  A great pair of jeans can make a bad day better!

  • Yes My new jeans came today...they were $12 at ON.com by the time I entered all the codes and coupons. I don't mind spending that on 2mos wear.

No MIL is flying in on friday for the shower on sunday....her and FIL promised to buy the stroller and carseats but I have a feeling I'll be buying the carseats myself since they haven't done anything yet. I want to be ready incase these 2 come early.

BR: We may go to a birthing class for DH...he has NO  idea what to expect :-) Our ob has a specific one he likes so we'll see...but I wasn't planning on one at all.

NBR: I'm stoked about the the Tall line at Old Navy! I can't wait to finally not worry about my shirts not being long enough and I can wear heels with jeans again :-)

  • I've got appointments weekly on Tuesdays now. Just NSTs and check ups. Still on Modified Bed Rest, though I feel like with getting everything ready in our house & nursery I haven't been resting as much as I should. My BP is still down so that's all that matters.

+ We got LOs crib, dresser, and glider set up last night! Also had maternity photos done yesterday. My shower is on Sunday and I can't believe things are just coming along so swimmingly!

    - I've had zero appetite. Nothing sounds good, and everything makes me want to puke. :( Also, it seems like every night I wake up on the hour because my arms are numb. No matter what position I am in and where my arms are, they go numb and start burning. UGH that sucks.

BR: No birthing class for us. My OB said they're kind of pointless if I've got an open mind on how I want things to go, which I do for the most part.

NBR: I honestly love my maternity clothes. They're so comfortable. I dont plan on buying anything until I lose all my weight I had pre-pregnancy. THEN I'll have an entire new wardrobe!

  • BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why? - No class.  My doctor with #1 said that since we were planning an epidural, I could just watch the discovery channel and find out all I needed to know about terminology, what could go wrong, what to expect, etc.  He was right.  Glad I didn't waste my time.  Had I been planning to go natural, I would have taken a class.  NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over? -Another good pair of jeans... can't decide if I want to do my usual Citizens, or get a pair with some bling, like Miss Me's or True Religions...  One up:  I'm eating Pear Jelly Bellies right now and life is awesome. One down:  It was a bad weekend for ALL of my sports teams in Dallas this weekend!!

  • Doing well this week!

Up: Had a good OB appointment today. All is well.

Down: I'm having more trouble breathing these days.

BR: No class. My Ob didn't recommend the one at our hospital. I'm too lazy to search out another and I'm not really a class person anyway. We took BFing class and went on an L&D tour

NBR: Anything that doesn't have a tie under my boobs.

  • ETA: I have a big appointment this Friday: GTT, growth u/s, and OB check up.

    Yes I have off today!

No My feet are still swollen and ugly.

BR: I plan to sign up for the childbirth education class.  I'm mostly interested in the hospital tour and to learn what I can expect during delivery.

NBR: I haven't thought of that yet.  I hope my feet go back to normal, if not I'll be buying all new shoes.

  • Yes It was a beautiful weekend here!  My sister and her boyfriend came to visit and we went to the apple orchard and carved pumpkins.  Lots of fall fun! :)

No My BP was a little higher than normal at my appointment today.

BR: We took the hospital birthing class and really enjoyed it!

NBR: Everything!  I keep seeing so many cute fall clothes in the stores and I hate that I can't buy anything yet.

  • Down: On Thursday I was diagnosed Pre-E and they wanted to induce that night!

Up: They let me do antepartum testing on Friday instead.

But: After having time to digest what is going on and talking with DH, we are going to go ahead and induce if the Docs still want to (most likely they do). So we may be induced as early as tomorrow!

Appts: NST on Tues and Fri, if they dont induce before friday. Also, regular OB appt on Friday. Then, if we arent induced, appts 3 times a week until Baby Boy is born.

QOTW: BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why?  - We went to the hospital sponsored Lamaze classes and Breastfeeding class. My hospital has at 95% breastfeeding rate! We took the classes so we would get tours of the Birth Center.

NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over?

     - No idea! Since we moved from TX to OH, maybe some winter clothes?

  • Yes I had a great weekend with some friends. We went to a local farm that has a fall festival and ate great food, went through a corn maze, and just had a good time. Afterwards everyone came back to our house and we had a fire in a firepit. Cooked hotdogs and roasted marshmellows over open flames....so yummy!

No I twisted my left ankle twice in about 5 minutes...owwie.

BR: We didn't go to any classes. I'm hoping that I'll remember things from nursing school and from going to deliveries.

NBR: I do miss my regular jeans, but I'm not looking forward to trying to cram my over-abundant self into them. Stick out tongue

  • Yay!  My first third tri check-in!  Technically, I'm not third tri until tomorrow, but I didn't think anyone would mind me jumping the gun! Wink

Yes DH felt the baby for the first time on Saturday and now he can't get enough. Since then he has been putting his hands on my belly and laughs when our LO kicks.  It's really cute.  And, this has made him get a move on with the nursery, which couldn't make me happier.

No I'm starting to get uncomfortable when I sit for long periods of time and I have to do a CLE (continuing legal education) class on Friday and then another next month, which I'm not looking forward to.

I have my 28 week appointment on October 20th and our growth u/s on November 3rd.

    QOTW

BR: We are taking the hospital sponsored prenatal classes.  They are every Tuesday in October, so a series of 4 classes.  The first was nonmedicated labor and delivery, the second is medicated labor and delivery, the third is postpartum card and the fourth is newborn care.  Then we have a breastfeeding class on November 2nd.  I really like the classes so far and it was really nice to take the tour of the L&D floor and get to know where we have to go, etc.

NBR: Shoes with heels!  And a "normal" sized bra!

  • Hi everyone - I've been MIA trying to keep up with work.

UP - Got my baby carrier in the mail this weekend. Bought the Beco Gemini. It is adorable. (hope it works as well as it looks)

Down - having some family issues with my parents but i won't go into details.

QOTW - No classes. Went through them all with ds - and I don't think there is much to remember.

NBR: Dresses - but it will probably be a while before I am ready to attempt a a clothing shopping trip.

  • Yes Love my MW office more than ever - I  told them I had a problem with one of the new MWs who I clearly did NOT get along with right off the bat. So they're working out a plan where if she happens to be on call when I go into labor, I can call someone else's cell phone.  SO releived to not have to work with her...

No The hip pain - agony.  Can't roll over in bed, can't walk up stairs...so uncomfortable

BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why?

Took Bradley classes because I'd like to go without drugs, and like to be as informed as possible.

NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over?

    Bras that actually fit!

38 week appointment was tonight.  No internal, but LO still hasn't dropped much so they think it's at least another week.  *sigh*.  Next appointment is next Monday...

  • I have my 36 week check-up Monday and start internals. I am a little nervous about that!

Yes Work shower tomorrow and family shower on Saturday. I can't wait! My mama and sister are coming in for the weekend so its going to be so fun.

No We are so not ready for company for the weekend. I might have to kill the DH soon.

BR: We went to an all day class about L&D at the hospital. It wasn't new info to me, but I am so glad we went. It was good for DH and it was good to have things I've read on the bump confirmed by a nurse from L&D.

NBR. SHOES!! And after I drop some m/c related weight some hot new jeans :)

  • Hi Ladies, thanks for reposting the checkin, OC. I missed it yesterday.

Yes Had a great date day with DH. MIL took DD1 for the day so we had the day to relax, get an early dinner, watch a movie and get some shopping done.

Yes DH finally painted the baby's room.

No We still have another 2 weeks until the nursery furniture comes in

QOTW BR: We went to a Birthing Basics class the hospital had with DD1 and I went to a breast feeding class. I won't be going to another class with this LO

QOTW NBR: After I lose the baby weight plus the weight I had put on after my loss, I cannot wait to buy an entire new wardrobe but mostly a kick ass pair of jeans :)

  • +The majority of my bags are packed, just a couple things left to put in.

-This one will always be missing my boys. I missed my little guys assembly last week and he read his poem in front of it.

Aside from that my week was pretty good except the news I got at my appt. today confirming my pain is not all in my head.

BR: I didn't do any classes this time around. I don't have a lot of time for one and I also am to cheap to pay $200 for half of what I know already and is just a refresher.

NBR: A nice pair of jeans that fit my a** properly.

  • Hi ladies!!

Yes I have an appointment tomorrow and a growth u/s.  The OB and I will be discussing a possible earlier c/s.  YAY!!!

No  Little Rocker is really sick right now, and he has a fever of 104.  We saw his pedi yesterday and we have another appt tomorrow, but if his fever goes any higher than 104 I have to take him in to the ER.  Sad  I'm so sad for my little boy.

BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why?

We went to a birthing class when I was pregnant with Little Rocker, and we didn't really feel the need to take one again.

NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over?

CUTE DRESSES!!!!  I can't wait to get back into wearing cute dresses all the time.  My cousin and I used to swap all the time, and I'm seriously jealous of her cuteness.  lol

  • Yes my little man is kicking like crazy and I love it.... and we have a 3d ultra sound for fun this Sat...

No I had a dr appt for 10:15 on wed for a growth US and OB appt.... Then my boss calls a two day meet that starts at, yep you guessed it 10 am Wed!!  So I called and made the appointment for today at 8:45 only to be remined that I had scheduled an all day meeting for today at 9 am and the employee the meeting was for did not show up until 10 am!!!!   So I had to reschedule again this time for Friday at 2:30.... Plus because of my boss' meeting I may miss my birth class tomorrow night...

    QOTW:

BR:  Did you go to a specific type of specialty birthing class, the hospital sponsored class, or no class?  Why?

We did a hospital sponsored 6 week first time parents class ... My DH has also taken a consious fathering class, We are taking a relaxation and breathing class, I am talking a breastfeeding and the working mom class and we both took a infant/child CPR class....

NBR:  What is the thing you are most excited to purchase for your non-maternity wardrobe after this is all over? Pants with pockets!!!
