I met a coworker for lunch - she's on mat leave and brought her 2-month-old. Her oldest son is fair-skinned, light eyes, light hair, slender, sensitive, very active.
Her baby has dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin. He's stocky. Hardly ever cries. She said she can already tell he's going to be the type to expend as little energy as he possibly can! In other words, the polar opposite of his brother.
I thought that was so funny. My experience of being a mom is only that of being Sadie's mom - she's fearless, active, funny, dramatic, and affectionate. I can't imagine having a passive, docile, serious child. But maybe I will someday!
Re: Moms with more than one child - how similar/different are your kids?
Your kids are so cute! Sadie has that same outfit - I love it!
You should see my dad. Thick black hair, very dark skin, looks Hispanic. My sister's the same (but with blue eyes). I'm so white I glow in the dark, green eyes, freckles. I don't know where the heck I came from!
My first DD is almost 4.5 yrs old. She was / is the EASIEST child on the planet. As a baby, she nursed well.....slept great (8hrs at 6 weeks)....she was content & happy.....would fall asleep anywhere (even on the floor LOL).
She did everything early;rolled early, sat at 5 months, crawled at 6m, cruised at 8 months, talked at 9 months.....
She never needs disciplining, and is a very wise little old soul -type child.
DD#2 was a much more demanding baby in comparison. Had major problems nursing (tongue tied), not a good sleeper......SCREAMS in the car....generally not as happy / content. Although, she is the happiest baby ever now, and MUCH less demanding.
She has also done everything late. Didn't sit alone until 7.5 months, hardly ever rolls, still hasn't crawled, no where near cruising....
.In terms of looks, they are both blue eyed & blonde.....but DD# has a beautiful olive complexion that tans so nicely in the summer. The baby's skin is very fair.
DD#1 was always a chunky baby, and is now a taller than average child.
DD#2 was longer, but lighter (because of the tongue tie), but is now heavier & taller than DD#2 was at this age.
my girls look completely different besides both having blue eyes. DD1 is fair, blonde curley, thin, very active and silly
DD2 is olive skin, dark straight hair still active, but more serious and chubby. both super cute though
My kids are 25 months apart, and very, very different. Physically, our DD is super tall and lean, has curly, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, (odd, because DH and I are both brown hair/green eyed) while DS has a stockier build, with brown hair and green eyes like us. Their personalities are just as different--DD is super sweet, but is very cautious and shy around strangers, and already has a flair for the dramatic. We always called her our "little philosopher" as a baby, because she always looked so serious! Meanwhile, DS smiles at everyone, is always happy, and is super laid back and easy going. The only things they have in common are their energy, and their love of sleep.
They're both very active, and are great sleepers. And they're both very sweet kids.
my girls are 5 1/2 years apart are the only thing they share are the same nose!! (mine).
My older has dark blonde curly hair, blue blue eyes and very fair skined. My baby has olive skin, dark brown straight hair, and dark eyes!!
It's crazy!

like night and day.
DS1-high energy, needs lots of attention, sociable, adaptable, very strong willed, horrible sleeper, eats like a bird, light hair, blue eyes, slender build
DS2-low maintance, friendly, warm, mama's boy, rolls with the punches, wonderful sleeper, HUGE eater, dark hair, dark eyes, is like a tank
oh and they are 3.5 years apart but almost weight the same. DS1 weighs 30lbs and DS2 weighs 22lbs. CRAZY!
9 angels in heaven-3 in my arms and 1 in the NICU
Mono/di twin girls: Josephine born to heaven and Evangeline born Earthside at 25w
DS is a tornado- high energy, laughs all the time, life is a big ol' party and he's the main event. DD is much more reserved- you have to work much harder to get a smile out of her. She's certainly not passive or docile though- she can be a bit of a diva! lol
Looks wise, DS always had dark eyes, and thick dark hair. DD has dark eyes, but lighter, reddish hair.
