30 wks with horrible itchy stomach!! Anyone else experience the same?

I'm 30 wks and started experiencing extreme itchy skin on my stomach where my stretch marks have formed.  I've been using two types of stretch mark creams twice a day for months so i know it cant be dry...It's itchy like a mosquito bite, when you start itching you dont want to stop and its burning itchy.  I talked to my Dr. and she suggested an over the counter anti itch cream called Sarna, it helps for about an hour but that's it.  Anyone else experiencing this??  It's really terrible...

    Sorry, no!! Just keep the skin hydrated, perhaps ask her for another suggestion if the Sarna isn't working.

    Mine was super itchy when I started getting stretch marks. The only think that soothed my itch was baby oil and Vaseline on top of that. Also remember to drink tons and tons of water! HTH.

    Maybe it's PUPPS? Calamine lotion gave me a lot of relief when my feet got a rash at the beginning of my preg.

    Yes!  I asked my doctor about this today because it's been so bothersome.  She said that my skin may just be sensitive due to the pregnancy and suggested not using any lotion and allowing the skin to breathe.  Sounds like h*ll as using lotion has provided some temporary relief.  But, since I haven't tried the no-lotion route, maybe that's the solution?

    Hope you find some relief soon.  I know it svcks!

    I know this may sound dumb but have you tried to take some benedryl for the itch? and it sounds like you may be allergic to the stretch mark creams.

    I've used cocoa butter and it actually makes me very itchy. I use Bio Oil instead. It's expensive and kind of greasy at first, but I have had very little itching when I use it. I put it on 2x a day and never notice any dry skin on my stomach.

    Its probably PUPPS. I found out yesterday that I have it, and was given a RX to help with the itching. Its only temporary relief, the only cure is delivery.

    if nothing else is working, you may want to try eucerin. I have super sensitive skin and break out with everything, but eucerin works great, especially for itchy skin :)

    My stretch marks have gotten a lot worse over the last week and along with that came the itching....I'm just trying to slather the lotion on and hydrate, but if feel the urge to itch (which is like all the time, lol) I try to rub instead of scratch. My dr basically told me to expect this until I deliver. Blah.

    He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!
