I just saw your post paging me. Yes, it was me who posted about grilling a steak. So glad it turned out so well for you! Ever since we "mastered" the grilling steaks indoor thing (we live in an apartment), we now have it once every week. Usually on Fridays. With a bottle of wine. Yum.

Of course! The original post is here..

Basically, we always use NY Strip or Ribeye, sprinkle with salt & pepper, and cook under the broiler for about 5 minutes on each size. It'll take a bit of trial and error. NastyAnnie mentioned that they used thicker steaks, so they needed 11 minutes on each side. Just check on it often. It's so easy and so good, and so little clean up.
Seriously, SO little clean up. I lined a metal baking pan with foil and put the steaks in that. When it was all over and done with, I pulled the foil out and threw it away, and stuck the pan...back in the cabinet! It was still clean!
Hooray for a delicious dinner without 18 pans to make it suck.
Have you looked into an indoor bbq? We LOVE ours and use it at least twice a week during the winter.
