I know she hasn't been on the computer since Friday with Thanksgiving and all. She was on this morning, I hope she'll be on later too. I miss her too!!
The day you first lay in my arms, you made my life complete. Aurora Rose born sleeping at 35w on 4-21-10 BFP#2 {Almond} - 2.1.11 EDD 10.12.11 C/P 2.11.11
OMG you guys are awesome. Thank you for thinking of me ~and my Mom~!!!!
Yeah, it was a weird weekend. I just didn't get near the computer at all, which was actually really good. Sometimes you just need a break (I'm terrible for checking work email on weekends...). I was absolutely KILLED by AF this weekend. Unusually heavy, wicked clotting (TMI)...I was a mess. I don't know how I managed to cook all weekend.
We were shopping for our dinner on Friday night, then had an event with our English students, Saturday we were up and at the farmer's market by 8:30 to get the best veg for dinner, then I was baking pies and prepping some other things until 8:30 that night - at which point I passed out on the couch. Sunday I was up again and in the kitchen by 8:30am and cooked straight through until guests arrived at 4:30.
Over all, it was a great, great dinner, but it had that sad undertone of what this weekend should have been, and that was hard to shake. One of our guests was my friend Helen - also a good friend of my mother's, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer about a month ago. There was a lot of talk of cancer and chemo at the table - BUT Helen is one of these people who is so upbeat and positive she kept the spin light, and helped my Mom from being so down.
My Mom is having a pretty rough go. We found out recently that she's got Stage IV Triple Negative Breast Cancer, and is unable to have chemo for a while longer because of this nasty infection - so is set back quite a bit. She was enjoying herself, but was also falling asleep at the table....so sad.
Then - to top off the weekend - we learned late Sunday that a friend was killed in a car accident in Toronto on Saturday night. She was a colleague to most of us at our dinner, and it just set us all back in shock. She was only 49, and left behind a teenage daughter. One of the nicest people on this campus - and I would go for coffee often. I just saw her last week...
:::deep breath:::
So...woah...this is getting long.
I slept almost all day yesterday, AF still knocking me around. We took
the dogs to the lake and I got knocked over into the mud. R laughed and
saved my camera while I fell, because he's the best DH in the world. Clifford went swimming for the first time!!
I feel like a bad buddy to my TTCAL ladies, and enjoyed waking up to good news today to start the new week, ...and I have so much BUMP to catch up on!!! I'm so behind, but I am here (sorta..)
*ignoring everything in my office to scroll though four days of The Bump*
Again, thanks for thinking of me!! You ladies are so thoughtful! xo

Wow, what a stressful weekend! I don't even know where to start with all of the bad things (I am so sorry about your friend and of course AF). I am glad your dinner was nice though and that DH saved the camera!
Your mom will be in my prayers (and you too.) I can't imagine how hard that must be on all of you. ((((hugs hugs hugs))))
