So I went in today which is CD 11 for a scan and bloodwork to see what the evil 150mg of clomid did for me.
My lining is 8 which is good however I was disappointed that I only have 2 follies on my right side (12 and 10.) This is the exact same result I got on 100mg of clomid, which didn't make me an emotional basket case so it might not have been worth it to be on 150 at all. All those tears for nothing!
I told my RE about the insomnia and emotional crap I went through and he said if this cycle doesn't work out, we'll go back to 100mg. I asked about injectables and he said that since I have IVF covered by my INS, he doesn't recommend using them. He wants to go straight to IVF if 2 or 3 more IUI's don't work and he said that injectables aren't a good idea if we are going straight to IVF.
He also said that a 30 year old woman has a 10% chance for a BFP on IUI and a 50% for one on IVF. Why do I get the feeling that he is mentally preparing me for IVF....
Sorry for the block post I'm on my iPhone...

I really don't understand why he won't just use femara if he is against injectibles. I had exactly the same s/e as you, and femara is a dream. If I were you I would ask for sure.
On a side note, the 10% thing makes this 32 y/o want to kill myself as I gear up for my first IUI. I don't have IF insurance coverage and probably won't ever do IVF OOP.
BFP 12/18/2009. HB 1/4/2010. NO HB 1/18/2010. D&C 1/19/2010
April 2011 IUI #1 BFN. High FSH and other issues.
May 2011 Chose to build our family through adoption
September 2011 Actively waiting for a match
11/26/11 Surprise BFP * DD born 7/23/12
But femara isn't an injectible. It is just like clomid, minus the crazy s/e.
I would still ask him about it and see what he says. I don't know any doctors who don't use it. The only reason I think some choose clomid first is because it is an older drug, they are used to it, and it costs less. I really really think you should ask him about it.
No worries, and I hope you don't need to worry about "next time!" I just know it was like night and day for me, and since our s/e were so similar I thought it was worth a shot. GL!
