Bath Toy Holder - Question

I have seen some adorable tub toy holders. Any recommendations or warnings? We only have one tub so it needs to be out of the way. I like that frog one that sticks to the wall but it doesn't look like it has much space.

  • I have no recommendations, just before of the mildew that can accumulate at the bottom of them, you need to wash it quite regularly.

  • I won one on a blog and we have never used it. The instructions says you can drill it into the wall (no thank you) or use double sided tape. I don't think we will be using it. It is way cute but I just don't see how I can keep it clean

  • we have this one and I love it! It sticks great to our tiles with suction cups (it's really tight on there, never fallen off) and it's made of wet-suit material so it doesn't get moldy.

  • I purchased a suction hook and a $3 lingerie wash bag and it hooks on to our wall tiles.  Holds everything without getting yuck in the bottom of it.

My friend has this one for her 2 year old - and I thought I wanted it too.  Once I realized that you have to drill or use tape, I decided I didn't want to deface our tub walls.  When DD is old enough, we'll have a mesh toy holder that you can machine wash, as needed.  (we already own it, just don't need to use it yet)

  • I got the frog one off Craig's List a few months ago, with the suction cup strip and it works fabulous!  it holds ALL DD's bath toys and cups and stuff and works great.  it is also seriously out of the way for guests and stuff, but easy enough for us to reach it.    I think it is a matter of personal preference.  The woman I bought it from got it as a gift and prefers the mesh basket like tub toy holder and I hate those.

  • We have the Boon Frog as well. I didn't want to drill holes or use the double sided tape, so we just used the suction cups provided. It stayed up great at first, but then it started falling. Mostly when the bathroom was very dry (in the winter.) I have it stored under the sink now and don't use it.

We use one of the bath caddies instead now. Bath toys can get so gross. I have to clean them once a week and make sure all the water is out of them after each bath.

  • We have the Boon Frog and like it pretty well. We have a fiberglass tub, so we just used the suction cups/tape and it has held up fine.

But....as cute as it is, it's totally unnecessary. It was one of those things that looked SO cute when I was registering, but I now realize is an enormous waste of money. One of those cheapie mesh bags with suction cups work just fine.

  • The frog is HUGE! We have the ladybug version of it and it holds A LOT of toys. I love how much drainage it has too, so the chance of mildew is lessened. It is pretty big, so if you've got a small shower area then it might get in the way, but we have ours mounted at the far end of the shower and it's fine. One word of advice, though...we tried attaching it with the adhesive strips it comes with and it lasted like 2 days. We called the company and they instantly shipped out both the suction cup attachment and the silicone adhesive attachment for free (they do sell them on the site, but when I called they offered to send them for free). The suction cup works REALLY well and by following the instructions exactly it hasn't needed to be re-mounted in over 6 months.
