So it seems I had a 9 day luteal phase - does this mean if I were to get pregnant -a miscarriage is definitely a sure thing (google seems to think so)? I just started charting after my miscarriage but am wondering if anyone knows of any success stories of healthy pregnancies with short luteal phases? Thanks in advance - google has me all kinds of freaked out.

I don't think I've ever read that a short LP guarantees m/c, but more that it can make it more difficult to conceive. (Somebody correct me if I'm way off base here.)
Over the 3 years I've been charting, my LP varied around 10-12 days, but was only 9 the first cycle after m/c. Theoretically, your LP should always be the same, regardless of m/c or not, but let's be honest, nothing really works theoretically after m/c.
I'd give it another cycle or two and then maybe ask your OB or MW about it. There are some things you can do to make it a little longer, but I wouldn't try them without first having a conversation with your doc.
Hope that helps and hope that LP gets a little longer next time!
My first cycle after my miscarriage had a shorter than usual luteal phase. I'd wait and see what your next few cycles are like before I'd get too worried (easier said than done, I know). But I would flag it with your doctor the next time you see him/her just to get their opinion.
Hope your next cycle evens out for you.
