stressed about baby shower

in 3rd Trimester
my mother has spent close to $600 on my baby shower! I asked her not to spend so much but shes just goin crazy with it. Im worried that barely anyone will show up and she will be upset that she spent so much money and no one came. Am I just being silly?

    my mom is complaining about all the work she's putting into my shower, but i have no idea what the figures on it are.  i don't want her to do too much, in case we don't get a good turn out, but she seems to be having fun with it, too.

    don't be stressed about this! As far as her spending $$ on it, what can you do? You aren't 'responsible' for her and choices she's making, money she's choosing to spend. It sounds like you voiced your feelings about her not needing to go to trouble.... if she does anyway its not on you.

     I'm sure you'll have a nice turnout! I was a little concerned about mine bc hardly anyone rsvp'd (7) that they'd attend then almost 20 people showed up! Inconsiderate but that's another story. I wish you the best and hope you have a lovely time!

    I'm sure your shower is going to be beautiful regardless on how much was spent and who shows up. Just remember that whoever comes to share you and your baby's special day is all that matters. My mother threw me a a fabulous shower and invited almost 100 people (we have a very big family and circle of friends), she was bugging out because no one RSVP'd 2 weeks before the date she even put on the invite. Needless to say I had 80 people there with me and it was perfect! No need to stress, it will all come together :)
