In your mid-20s?

I am having a hard time finding statistics that reflect the success of IUIs and cycles of Clomid for a couple in their mid-20s.  I keep hearing about low success rates, but I'm told that these stats include older couples and couples with diagnosed problems.  Our IF is unexplained.

Anyway, is there anybody out there who is going through IUI/Clomid for unexplained IF in their mid-20s?  Was it successful for you?

Re: In your mid-20s?

  • My re said that an iui brings your chances up to 30% typically (up from 25 % from a typical couple using TI). I had no success with iui. I got pg and m/c after my first ivf. For couples in their 20s success rates for ivf ate around 60% depending on the clinic

  • I'm 28 (27 at the time of my iui) and have PCOS. My RE told me that with Clomid I would have an 8% chance with TI and a 12% chance with an z IUI. As far as injectables/IUI and a blocked tube she gave me a 10%-17% chance of success. But I'm sure that it would be higher if my tube wasn't blocked. Good luck!

  • I'm in my mid 20's. My RE just generally says that success rates are better the younger you are. Most statistics show an "under 35" category.  I would consider 5-10% higher success rates if you are in your mid-20's. Good luck to you!
  • I'm 25 and with my endo and DH's MFI my RE gave us a 20%  success rate over 6 IUIs. We ended up not even being able to qualify for an IUI so IVF It is! Good luck!

  • I'm almost 24.  I have Endo and Unexplained IF.  My RE just told us that we have a 5 % chance on our own, 10-15% chance with Femara (or Clomid), 20-25% chance with injectable meds (which puts us with an average couple with no problems) and 60-70% chance with IVF.  Good luck!

After 4.5 years our miracle IVF baby is here!
