My Son is 6 weeks old and is already 13 lbs. It seems like everytime I feed him he is hungry again after 2 hours screaming his head off. He gets 4 oz and I started Cereal because he was hungy all the time before I gave him the cereal. Sometimes he makes it 4 hours, but most of the time he wants food again after 2. I don`t know what to do anymore, I am afraid he eats too much and is gaining too much weight too fast. I don`t remember that my 1st son was getting so big so fast.
Anybody can help me with this?
Re: Baby too big?
I would call the pedi on this one.
Was he larger at birth?
Then feed him every hour. Or give him more at each feeding?
It is too early for cereal.
You should be worrying more about him being full and satisfied off of his main nutrition source(formula), not that he's gaining too much weight for your liking. Every baby is different, so he's not going to gain weight the same way as your first.
Liam weighed 14 pounds at 6 weeks, it's not a big deal.
And sorry, but your pedi said to give him water...wth?
To what would be my question too.
I've always been told/read that it isn't good to give babies just water.
My LO eats every 1-2 hours during the day. I wasn't aware that this was a problem. My baby is hungry so I feed him. No big.
It sounds like you are making mountains out of molehills. Also, from what I've read it's not good to give water to baby's.
I really hope this is MUD.
WTF kind of pediatrician would tell you to give LO water? And giving a 6-week old cereal can set them up for food allergies and digestive issues.
Feed him when he's hungry, and up the amount.

This exactly.
My baby was 8lbs 9oz and 22 inches long at birth, your baby could have been bigger. The thought of giving cereal or water to a child that young disgusts me.
I'm really hoping this isn't real ....
but, in the event that it is, YOUR BABY IS NOT TOO BIG!
I hope that answers your question. My son was nearly 15 lbs at his 2 month appointment and he's just perfect!
No water needed - cereal should be avoided for much longer! - just feed your precious baby!
I'm going to make an AWESOME big brother.
I realize this thread was a couple of days ago, but I wanted to add that my DS was 11lbs 2.5oz and 22 inches long at birth. He's never needed cereal yet and his 3 month birthday was yesterday.
