Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Please recommend your wearable baby carrier...

My arms seriously feel like they're going to fall off, and I can NOT get anything done in the house because Zach wants to be held all the time!  Please recommend your slings or whatever and tell me the pros/cons for them.

Someone gave me a Snugli but he HATES it and it smells funky ;)

  • We use the infantino front to back carrier and DS loves it...... He is a boob man (what guy isn't) and likes that he can nuzzle up to my boobs while I get stuff done.... I dont really have any negatives for it yet. DS loves it and we get our use of it for sure!

  • Oh, and are all of these available at places like Target and BRU??
  • Baby Bjorn hurts my back!
  • DS has currently been asleep in the peanut shell for an hour.  however, this is the first time i've been able to get him to do this without screaming or me being nervous about his neck.

  • No...not really.  You might be able to find a hot sling or a Moby...but it's best to get them on line.

Check out etsy!  Search for baby carriers or by name.  You won't find an Ergo there and instead of a Hotsling look for a pouch sling.

  • Love my Bjorn for when I'm out and about because it is SO fast and easy to get on, but now that she is getting so big, my back gets quite sore rather quickly now. The Moby Wrap is waaaay more comfortable on my back, but it's much more of a pain to get on and get her into it.
  • At that age it was the moby.  It is really versatile and she hated the cradle hold and slings.  You can make your own (google diy moby) or buy them on their website.

  • We use the Ultimate Baby Wrap (Target Online) and LOVE it! It's the same as a Moby. DS prefers to snuggle into my chest so this works great, and it's so comfortable for me. We have started using it with him facing out now, and he likes that too.

It's  a little intimidating at first, because it's so much material - but after a couple uses, you get the hang of it and it's easy to put on and adjust.

  • I have the Chicco carrier but haven't technically used it yet...

This ones my favorite. We tried the peanut shell and DD doesn't really like it. We bought this one at our local BRU. We tried out all of the front carriers that they had in the store. Yes we stood in the store and put DD in each of them and we liked the Lascal M1 the best. Doesn't hurt my back either.

  • we love our moby

  • I borrowed several from friends to try them out and loved the Moby. I had to return it, so I made my own. 5 yds of t knit fabric (tee shirt material) cut it in half lengthwise, so you have 2 really long pieces (2 Mobys - give one to a friend). If you sew or know someone who does get them to Serger or hem the edges, or just leave it. It may fray abit but not much. I made mine for $11.
  • Another Ergo lover here!!!
  • We have the peanut shell and karma baby slings and love them both. ?DS falls asleep as soon as he is put into one of them. ?I also use the baby hawk. ?I love that one too. ?DS likes that he can look around when we are walking and fall asleep on my chest.

  • Beco Butterfly. It took me a little bit of effort to figure out how to use it correctly, but now DD loves it.
  • I use a hotsling every day - I wouldn't be able to get anything done without it.  DS wasn't a fan of it when he was little, but now that he can hold his head up, I do the front facing carry and he loves it.

  • We love our Infantino SlingRider, DS loves it too. Total life saver!! They have it at BRU and I think at Target. We also have a moby wrap, but I've decided neither of us like it. You can get the Moby on-line and I've seen it in Target stores.
  • LOVE my baby hawk!!!! i got it from babyhawk.com.
