Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Oh crap. Red blood. What should I do?

I had spotted a few times in the past few days/weeks. I didn't think anything of it because it as such a tiny amount. Now I have red blood. I honestly don't know what I should do. Just wait it out? Call the doctor?

  • PLEASE CALL THE DOCTOR AND DEMAND TO GO TO THE ER!!!

I had spotting at 7 weeks and it was a threatened miscarriage that they were able to prevent with Progesterone. I was lifting heavy boxes all day to prepare to move...didn't realize how fragile my body was at that time.

  • I would call or if they were closed I would totally pay the ER or urgent care co-pay... Better to be safe and check up!
  • You need to rest and put your feet up too. I would call the DR just for peace of mind really ya know?
  • Put a call in.  They will probably tell you to lay down, put your feet up, take it easy.

    Clots?

Good.  You may have just "overdone" it, as they say.

Put in the call and see what your doctor suggests.

    GL.

That's good. Cramping? Yes, call the Dr but to put your mind at ease, blood isn't as worrisome as cramping. Not saying not to call, just so you don't freak. Could be a SCH. GL!! KUP

Good. Any cramping? I never saw red blood when I spotted a few times...hope everything is okay!!

  • Just talked to the nurse. She is sending me for a Rhogam shot and to check my HCG levels. She didn't sound too concerned (which I am glad about) and made an appointment for me tomorrow.

  • Hey Momma! I had red blood with Ares about the same time. Spent forever in the ER..they never really could tell me what was causing it. Some pregnancies are just weird like that I suppose. Thinking of you and I am sure all is fine!

    DS #1- Ares Christopher

    DS #2- Taj Lee

    DD #1 Alba Gray

    Baby #4- coming in May

  • I know someone who had two pregnancies back to back and bled during the second one. Everything was fine though.

  • @lease @lease call not to scare you but thats how mine started  T+P's for you!

  • Thoughts headed your way!!!
  • Not sure if you're still checking this thread, but I'll be honest - I dont think the ER is your best bet. I think you should wait it out until tomorrow morning, then go to your OB's office, or have your OB send you in for an US if they dont have an US tech on site.

That said - I bled lots of bright red blood throughout my pregnancy with DD, all the way through 2nd trimester.  Several of my friends also bled bright red blood during their perfectly healthy pregnancies.  It could be something totally normal - try not to panic.  Lots of thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • I'm super late to this thread; just wanted to say I'm sending positive vibes and I hope all is well.  Keep us posted! (Love the new sig pic)

I decided against going to the ER. My doc didn't seem that worried and I have an appt with him tomorrow anyway. Plus the bleeding has pretty much stopped. I'm glad I called though, I'm sure I'd have been freaking out all night if I hadn't.
