So I've always had annoying "big toe" toenails, they don't grow well, they peel, etc. I've tried everything under the sun OTC to fix this problem but nothing works. Well about a week ago I noticed that they were kind of yellow, today my mom was over and I asked her to look at them and tell me what she thought and whether I need to go to the dr or not. I take my foot out of my sock and one of my toenails is coming off of the nail bed and is extremely yellow! I was so grossed out, it wasn't like that yesterday! My mom was like, uhhh, yeah, I'd say you have a fungus, you need to call your dr. I called, have an appt for tomorrow, but how gross! Where on earth did I get it? EWWW, I'm totally skeeved out right now!
Re: Where did this come from??? GROSS!!!
Sounds like your mom is right, sounds like a foot fungus to me. You could have picked it up anywhere, really.
I have lost a toenail before, it isn't that huge of a deal. Mine was from a bad stub though. It didn't bruise or anything, one day it was sore and I touched it, none of my nail was connected to anything. I pulled it right out of the nail bed. It was my second nail though. It took about 6 months to grow back.
I have lost a couple of toenails before, one was from kid stomping on my foot when I was in grade school, they other was from a horse stepping on my foot. It just really grosses me out that I got a fungus, I do wear flip flops a lot so maybe that's how I aquired it.
LOL...I was just thinking, my toenail will grow back right before I'm due, that's good, considering I don't want people looking at my feet while I'm in labor and saying, "Sorry, I'm not holding her leg, did you see her toe!" LOL, I'm such a dork.
I don't blame you even a little for that. I hate hate HATE people touching my feet. Hate it. I am too self conscious about it, and that would be the first thing I would think of too!
The morning I went into labor I painted my toenails...and let me tell you, that was a sight to see. And you know what? They give you socks while you are in labor, so no one even saw my toes!
LOL, I bet...I can't paint my toenails now, let alone when I get to be 9 months along! I'd have my actual toes painted not the nails!
