I was really great at the beginning and then another spurt of greatness when I bought the new camera around 3 months. We have taken 3 sets of proffessional pictures and I have a ton of videos on the Flip. I noticed that I got a bit lazy around 5 months. It picked up again at 6 months when I noticed that I didn't even take 5 month shots.
I have yet to print one picture after his newborn session. His nursery has the only pictures for the whole house. This is so bad! I did do a newborn photo album and started the 2 month to 6 month photo album, but he is 8 months already.
If it wasn't for my babbling on the flip and facebook all of time, I would not have one milestone marked. I went through them and was able to piece all of his milestones for his 2 month to 6month album I'm working on. I have since started to mark them beginning at 7 months.
I really thought I was a lot more organized than this. I think it was the going back to work that made it somewhat hard.
How is everyone else doing? Where are majority of your photos? Any projects in the works? Any lazy months?
Re: How good have you been about pics, milestones and videos?
I was working on Isaiah's scrapbook of his first year and I noticed I had WAY too many pics to do monthly pages so I started doing weekly pages... as time went on I had some weeks with no pics. lately its been only a few a month.
We do a daily pic of him every evening after his bath and are making a slideshow for his first year. We miss a day sometimes and have to cheat it and do a double pic the same day but so far we have been good at keeping up
At first we had a ton of videos and pics. we go through dry spells and try to bring out the cameras more often but since I went back to work we have been lagging. Everytime he does a milestone I try and take a picture so I know the date it happened like smioling, first teeth, sitting up, etc...
We only did one profesional photo shot when she was about 6 weeks old.
I do take a ton of pictures and I have a journal on my computer that I write her milstones down in but printing pics out I am terrible with.
almost all of her pictures are on facebook simply because I have a ton of family (including my grandparents) that live out of state and never see her so I like posting videos and pictures for them to look at and watch.
I take a ton of pictures; I take "watch me grow" pictures on her birthday each month, and I always make sure to take pictures of milestones and then some more just when the girls are just being cute. However, except for a few pictures here and there, I haven't really printed pictures since August 2008. Yikes. I do have a blog for the girls, though, so that's basically how I share pictures and keep track of milestones. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't started either of the girls' baby books. Maybe I'll find time when they're in college. lol.
I take her for pro pictures every month, this month is just going to be a little late since she was sick.
I also try to video her at least once a week for a minute or two talking about her milestones and what she's been up to.
I recently just got caught up on his baby-book. Its not fancy- I hand write it all in there and its kind of all over the place. Thank God I posted a lot of his "milestones" on FB! I went back through my FB and wrote down all the dates, then transferred to his babybook.
I also take a ton of pictures and I'm currently doing online scrapbooks thru Shutterfly. So far I've completed a maternity/pregnancy book, and birth-2 month books. I'm working on month 3-4 right now (and he's 8 months! So this tells you how far behind I am)
I also have those month one-sie stickers and I take them every month. Not necessarily on his "month birthday" though.
Its so hard to stay updated with all of this! I feel your pain!
Well....in one years time, we have about 9,000 pictures stored on our computer.
I keep a baby's 1st year book with monthly info. in it. and I have a keepsake box that I store little items in.
My husband is obsessed with videoing everything from her first haircut, to the first time she eats something.
My mom says that the second child will be lucky if they have one completed album. I know what she is talking about because I remember finishing my little brother's baby album for her.
This is so my brother and I (I'm the second). My brother's baby book had to have extra pages added to it, but mine stops somewhere in the middle lol. I am afraid of this happening with our second LO.
With C I take a LOT of pictures with my iphone-it used to be pretty much every day, but now that he's so active, it's usually every few days. I got a DSLR for Mother's Day so I try to take pictures with that when I can (ie, the backyard, at Gymboree, whenever his cousin visits, etc). Also we've had 3 pro sets (at Sears) taken + one with his cousin at Target 2 weekends ago. We are pretty behind with his baby book though, his 0-6month is finished, but the one starting at 6month is just started-and he will be 9months soon!
For milestones, I have a little book that I check every so often, but I usually remember because I either say something on FB, or text my SO about.
I'm a photo taking freak. I have a folder for each month and each folder has anywhere from 500-600 photos. I do a lot of videos with my P & S camera.
We did professional photos at 8 days, 4 months and 6 months. We have some 9 month ones planned at the end of the month.
I don't really do anything with my photos though. I've printed 5 or 6 and all the rest are stored on USB drives. I think I'm going to do a big MyPublisher book after her first b-day.
