anyone else not entirely done with their nursery?

We just now put together our crib and changing table... I felt really behind in this area and even after putting those darn things together, I have no idea how I want them set up in the room! I feel more stressed with the stuff together than I did with it sitting in boxes! just curious if anyone else has yet to finish their nursery or is just as stressed about the way it's gonna look like me...

Re: anyone else not entirely done with their nursery?

  • i have barely started....  we have no baby furniture at all yet.  waiting for the shower to get things.

  • Well, we have all the necessities (most importantly the crib and changing table), but I keep looking at pics of nurserys on Google and on here and getting all these ideas about what I can add to it. I have even wanted to re-paint quite a few times. I figure I have a bit of time left, but I have a feeling it will just stay the way it is...
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one! we have the basics too and tons of clothes but nothing is really put away and it's just bare... it'll be done eventually!
  • We are going step by step on the nursery. We still have a lot of things to do but it will get done before she is here. I will probably finish it when I start maternity leave next month. I will need something to do.
  • Ya, I think the Moms who have it all together are the minority, but good for them!! I am just too indecisive... and lucky Target is so easy to make returns with :)
  • I haven't even started... I've been waiting for 2 and half months for my bedding. Grrr.... I finally got the bright idea today to have a fabric swatch sent to me so I can get the room painted. LOl. It should be here any day... I've heard this for weeks and won't hold my breath.

Our furniture is in boxes still. I'm hoping to have it complete in the next few weeks in time for my shower at my house. :)

  • We still need to hang up the wall letters/decor/curtains and put together all the baby gear (bassient, swing, bouncer, newborn lounger)

  • The only things we have done are the big stuff.  Now all the little stuff needs to get done and come together, which I have a feeling is going to take more time than I think it is.  Tongue Tied

  • we have the big stuff done.. furniture, paint, crib, glider.. just some artwork left to do and lots of little necesities.  diaper pail, linens, healthcare items.  I'm tryyyying to wait until after my shower to buy that stuff, tho.

  • We have nothing. We haven't even ordered the crib yet.

At first it was because I was too scared, now it's I am just a procrastinator (I think). We still have what we did with Nolan's room and it will stay the same (paint and some decor) if we don't get our new house before the baby.

  • I have been attempting to work on the "little things" and they're not so little in time or effort that's for sure... and it's the things like hanging up decorations/decor, the valance, closet items, and all of this stuff that I'm worried about b/c I'm afraid I won't like it or I'll change my mind about where it's at or how it's done. I'm too indecisive and everyone keeps telling me I'll go crazy with nesting so we will see I guess... good luck to all of you ladies still working on your nurseries like us though!
  • I have almost nothing done.  I'm trying to wait for my showers in November, but I'm having a very hard time being patient.  We do have the room painted and the glider-no crib or changing table yet.  I'm getting them used from a friend, but I need to borrow a vehicle big enough to move them.  Definitely a procrastination issue with those particular things.

  • We have put together furniture and all of the big items as we get them. I've been too afraid to buy clothes because I don't know how big she'll be or what the weather will be like (we've lived here a year and everyone said last winter was unusually cold...seemed warm to me). I really want to paint but we haven't bought a house yet, we'll probably wait until early next year.

  • We need all the bigger items; crib, changing table and swing.  And we need a few other baby items; breast pump and bottles.  We have just about everything else (essential items; clothes, burp clothes, blankets, baby body stuff).

  • We (DH) just finished painting the room last night, and I am ecstatic over our progress.  We are going to get our carpets cleaned this week (and then buy baby gates to gate off that one part of the house that still has carpet) and THEN we can start moving the furniture in.  We have a dresser and twin bed out in the garage, and the crib is in its box in the hallway.  Then I'll have to start on all the little projects I've been saying I want to do for months "if only I had a place to put them when I'm done".

  • We have not even started yet!! The girls are currently sleeping in what will be the nursery. We have to get the girls room ready first and move them over before we can start on the nursery.
  • We're another who has barely begun. We've got a play yard with bassinet in it's travel case in our room, but most things are still up in teh attic from DS, and we have yet to put the crib together, etc. I'm starting to get definite nesting urges, but we've got a few big jobs to sort before we do that, so I need to be patient. I think my deadline is the first 2 weeks in November - before I hit full term! :)

  • We moved 3 weeks ago and the baby's room is still just filled with boxes.  We haven't even agreed on a paint color yet.

  • we're not remotely done with our nursery. And to be honest, i don't understand the rush. We have at least 4-5 weeks before the baby comes, at the earliest. It will be done by then.

  • we're nowhere near finished....we had a LONG way to go though. that room almost needed a complete reno so we've done a lot, it just doesn't seem like it. My H ripped down the whole ceiling and half of a wall to re-do the insulation and then had to put up all new drywall (obviously) and get it spackled and taped, then we painted the whole thing, re-did the moulding and ripped out all the old carpet. it's like an episode of Holmes on Homes in there. it's making me crazy....so right now, it's just bare wood beams and pokey nails on the floor and we're waiting for the carpet to be installed (hopefully next weekend). we're going with my MIL tonight to BRU to order the furniture....so yeah...nowhere neard done....baby steps :)

  • Not only am I not done, I don't think anything else will get done until after the baby arrives.  We had a problem with our furniture, and now it's not scheduled to arrive until January-ish.  I'm at a point where everything else has to wait for the furniture.  I'm trying not to be too bummed about this, but it's hard.

  • We haven't even started. We have furniture and bedding, but it's all haphazardly placed in the room around the furniture that was already in there. We have next week off, so we plan on starting and mostly finishing then.

  • We have most furniture set up (crib, dresser, wardrobe, bookshelf) but we have nothing on the walls at all and we don't have our glider.  We need to figure out what artwork we are using and hang it up and we also need to hang a shelf above the dresser for diapering supplies, since we are using the dresser top as a changing station (but we don't have a changing pad yet, either).

  • All the furniture has been ordered, and should arrive in November. We are painting before the end of the month. And wallpapering the accent wall the first week in November. My shower is Nov. 14 so I am waiting to shop until I know what we receive.

But as of now, the room is completely empty!

  • We didn't really take much of the furniture (changing table, bassinets) apart when we stored them so it was just a matter of moving them. DH put together the crib and hung some of the decorations and I put away a lot of the clothes. So we have everything pretty much set, but there are a few things that I'd still like to do before LO arrives.( Put up name- have to agree on one first, buy new changing table pad, new monitor, and get a mobile- other one broke in the move) It's all stuff that we could do without but I won't feel finished until everything on my list is done.
  • The room is painted, the crib is put together, the clothes are in the drawers (the drawers are in a different room though) but the room is not 'together' at all.  I still need to put up blinds, curtains, pictures on the wall.  Get a chair of some kind, etc.

  • Um...I don't really have a lot to work with but a lot hasn't been done.  I have the owl wall decal up, and I made the DIY barrette holder that was posted a couple of weeks back.  The furniture is purchased but still in boxes.  My father's waiting for my husband to come home in the middle of November so they can put it together together. And I washed the two items of clothing I have for her so far, and hung them up, plus purchased some baby size hangers.  And yup that's it.

This is sort of how it is for us. Hubby will be remodeling part or our 2nd level making the baby a new bedroom and he will be room-sharing with us until then. I so want to be able to decorate and be set up but we won't be starting on his room until winter/early spring so I may end up skipping the whole "baby nursery" design when I do decorate it. Hopefully baby will only share our room for 6 months top. We do have furniture and all that since he is baby #3 so we are covered, although his crib is not set up yet in our room and clothes are still living in bins.

  • We're not even done clearing the old furniture out. We still have to clean, paint, buy all the furniture, put it together and decorate.

You are light-years ahead of us!

  • I feel like we're halfway done.  We have the major stuff, but none of the little stuff.  We have the crib, dresser, and changing table assembled and we have the mattress for the crib.  We have the bedding picked, but not purchased.  We're renting, so we can't paint, so that's one less thing to worry about.  We ordered the glider and a name sign and should be getting those in the next month.  We have one framed poster to put up, but it's just sitting on the floor because we're too lazy to hang it up.  And we just had a baby shower on Saturday so we have TONS of stuff I need to wash and put away.

  • All of our furniture is put together, but we have some loose ends to tie up.
  • Not even close to being done. We have the room painted, the crib set up and the dresser in position, but that it about it. Oh and we have a picture on the wall and the letters "BABY" on the wall, but that is it. It's beginning to be a point to anxiety for me. All the clothes are in a rubbermaid tote in the closet and that is all we have done. We don't even have our car seat yet. I think that that is the most stressful thing for me. And I have a feeling that our LO is going to arrive early. But, I have my shower this weekend, so I hope that we'll get some of the things off our registries to put my mind at ease.....

  • We've still got a fairly long way to go before it's done. We painted, and the furniture is in there, but we have no matress in the crib, no curtains, no shelves/decorations up, and all his clothes are sitting in totes/bags/piles waiting to be taken care of. I am waiting until after the shower to finish, so that I have a better idea of what we really have and what needs to go where to save the most space.

  • Haven't really even started yet.  Hubby was using the baby's room as his "man cave" so we have been ebay-ing and Craigslist-ing TONS of stuff.  Feels kinds nice to clean out the house.  e even had a garage sale 2 weeks ago.  I am looking forward to painting the room and making it Charlotte's instead of a man cave.
