Co-Sleepers

I registered for the arms reach co-sleeper original, but I'm rethinking this because it may be unnecessarily large.  Maybe I should get the mini? Anyone who has the Co-Sleepers out there and which one would you recommend?  What is the difference besides size?  I read all the reviews on all the different versions (there are a TON of versions) and I'm confused.  Help!  Thanks ladies!

Re: Co-Sleepers

  • The mini can not be used as a play yard but the original can. We are going with the mini. We had a large PNP before, we were constantly annoyed by the size of it because we don't have much extra space in our bedroom and never used it as a play yard.
  • Loading the player...
  • we used the arms reach mini co-sleeper with dd and it worked just fine.  she didn't need the extra space that the regular size co-sleepers offer.

  • Ohhh....I don't want to use it for a play yard either.  I would rather just use it as a bassinet.  I think I need to do make some registry changes....

     Thank you!!

  • Original is 40" (L) x 28" (W) x 31" (H) and is for up to 50 lbs. The Mini is
34"x 20"x31, 24 lbs. We are borrowing a full-size because that is what was offered to us. We are not doing a pack & play otherwise, so I feel like the big one is a little more diverse.  Since the original is not that much smaller than our crib, I think we may put the cosleeper at my parents' house for visits and just sidecar the crib. We had planned on the co-sleeper in our room for a long time, but when I realized how important an unfinished wood crib and organic mattress was to us it seemed weird to then use the co-sleeper as his primary sleep-place after being so picky about the crib.

  • Not exactly what you're asking for, but I would recommend the fisher price rock n play sleeper if you want something small that can fit next to the bed. It's easily folded up and transported from room to room, and if you go to visit friends/family, it takes up practically zero trunk space and can hold babies up to 25lbs so it would definitely last you through the first year if need be. New babies generally tend to like small, confined spaces, and my DS would never sleep in a traditional bassinet/crib when he was small but loved his rock n play sleeper.

  • We used this one in our bed at first and then in her bed to confine her to a smaller area and then when we went and visited other people, we took it to have a place to lay her down that was safe. It folds up and turned out to be a great help.
