Noah gets hiccups pretty much after every feeding. We burp him several times while he eats and are using Dr. Brown's bottles. He usually eats anywhere from every 2 1/2 to 4 hours and usually takes just over an ounce. What is causing this? Is there anything we can do? Not really spitting up at all. We have him on Target Up & Up equivalent of Enfamil. Surprisingly he eats it much better than he did the Enfamil. He ate 2 oz this morning @ 3:00 and it made my mommy heart so happy!

Re: Hiccups after every feeding?
Hiccups are pretty normal early on. I found that giving her gripe water worked almost every time....but honestly I think that just using a dropper with anything in it may have done the trick.
His tummy is just getting used to digesting, he'll get over them soon.
K hiccups all the time. I ask the Pedi about it every time we see her (which is a lot b/c of reflux and weight gain issues) and she swears it is normal.
I wish I knew what causes it but apparently it is perfectly fine for LOs to hiccup a lot!
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
All my little ones did early on too... from what I know it's totally normal and will stop eventually as LO gets bigger.
What a gorgeous baby you have there mama!! SO happy to see you here!!!
I had one hiccuper and one nonhicupper.
I love seeing your mommy posts over here too.

Totally, totally normal...and when he starts laughing, he'll hiccup after he laughs too ;-)
Mine is a big hiccupper too and the pedi said the same thing, it bothers us more than them. My LO doesn't even seem phased by it.
ditto. to all of this! Love seeing these posts from you!!!
Because we're fancy like that.
Our pedi told us no gripe water, but all drs are different. I think it can have salmonella or something else for sitting awhile in the stores...
Our LO is over 6wks and pretty much has hiccups after 85% of all of her feedings. it is normal for this early on with a full stomach. When she gets them I burp her and burp her before she gets them and try to bounce her gently on my lap/leg...very gently while rubbing her back. they go away in 10 min or so and I am not sure you can avoid them at this point. I dont remember my son having them so much, but she is almost 2m and has them quite a bit. She is breastfed only and does have some spitup if I dont keep her upright after a feeding.
