What bath products are you using on your LO?

After noticing the whole J&J causes cancer/everything causes cancer semi throw down on 3rd tri, I was wondering what bath products you planned on using. With DS we used Aveeno until he got diagnosed with eczema so I switched to Dove sensitive skin wash (recommended by pedi) and that's what we use now.

But I'm thinking of going more natural this time...I've heard good things about Dr. Bronners plus it's not crazy expensive for the amount you get.

honestly haven't thought much about it. I was planning on using the naturals line of J&J...heads to 3rd tri to see whats up. I really would like to try the burt's bees line for babies too.

After going to the website posted on 3rd tri (that cosmetics one) I'm just going to put LO in a bubble!! I had no idea how many chemicals were in some things. I try to avoid fragrance when I can and that seems to be the worst part of many of them.

So far, I've got the J&J naturals stuff for LO. That doesn't seem too bad.

I'm a big fan of Aveeno products all around so I was just going to use those. But recently I found Belli Baby products on www.maternitique.com and they look really good so I think I'm going to order some. My girlfriend uses their products on her daughter and she loves them.

All this J&J bashing is really getting to me. Honestly what did your mother's use for you? Most likely J&J and we're all fine. Also all those people who are using Aveeno do you realize it's made by J&J??

I'm allergic to all J&J products, and I have really bad eczema. I was using Dove at the time, and after years my skin finally went nuts. The only thing that works with my skin is the Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk Bar Soap. I plan on using that. The main ingredient is Buttermilk, so it hydrates your skin. But if she has a reaction to that I'm going to use the Burt's Bees Baby Shower and Bath Liquid. The recently released a fragrance free version, so that would be the next step. Also the California Baby line looks promising as well.

If I couldn't have used Burt's Bees Baby Line on my skin, Dr. Bronner's was my next resort. I've heard great things about it, and you do get a good amount for the money.

My DH uses Dr. Bronners for himself and he loves it. I am not a fan. It feels too strong on my skin and sort of tingles (he likes the tingling feeling). It also does not have any moisturizers and it feels like it dries my skin out. I have never tried it on a baby (obviously, since this will be my first), so I am not sure if the baby formula feels more gentle or not. Maybe you could buy a small bottle and see if you like it?

I have used the lavender sented Baby Magic soothing baby bath & shampoo since DD was tiny. I can't use J & J , at least not the original. It turns my skin red & burns my eyes. I don't know if my kids will have the same issue but I'm not going to chance it either.

We have a ton of Huggies Natural Care baby wash (from a work product sale), so I will be using that until it runs out. Not sure what we plan on using after it is gone since the product is no longer made due to profit margins on that line.

California Baby. I'm extremely careful about products I use on myself (only natural soaps and oils - none of your typical stuff), so I will certainly be the same way with my child.

I'll be using Huggies Pre-Soaped Disposable Washclothes with lavender. I used those with DD and they were great!! They don't make them anymore so I've been searching for them. And then the Aveeno lotion with lavender.

We registered for and will most likely use Aveeno products. I love them for myself!

I never heard of anything negative about J&J until recently on this board and 3rd tri board. I use J&J baby lotions on myself and love it. I do use Aveeno moisturizing cream on my face and I have rocacea (also use my prescribed facial cream).

We're using J&J. Everyone I know used/uses it and they are all very happy. For shampoo though we are using Paul Mitchell's kids line. My mother is a hair dresser and will be picking it up for us

J&J and aveeno... I use J&J on my skin when i have issues with my breakouts, and hubby uses Aveeno becuase his skin just... well... it blows lol... We will use whatever works best for our baby.... and yes I know they are made by the same company... but they work differently on me that they do on hubby.... good thing I am a coupon queen!

We will be using California Baby but also have a few angel baby products as well as yes to baby carrots and some Lafe's organic items as well.

The goal is to use products with as few ingredients, no chemical additives, no fragrance etc.

Just recently saw more and more of the Yes to Carrots products popping up. Especially in places like Walgreens, let me know what you think about them. I'm tempted to try them, but I'm refraining from using any knew products during pregnancy (since that's when my skin seems to freak out the most).

The USA Today article I just looked at had various different brands that were tested, not just J&J. Aveena was on there also. I think it was their baby body wash and there was also something about Huggies. The baby magic lotion had the highest concentration and I think I registered for that and might have got it already. Yikes! I think I'll use what I get and then change brands once this stuff runs out. Although I'm not sure I will end up using that lotion at all.
