Providence Newberg vs. Legacy Meridian Park

Hi Ladies,

I am trying to decide between Providence Newberg vs. Legacy Meridian Park Tualatin for delivery.  I've scoured the web and based on what I read, am leaning towards Providence Newberg.  I am hoping for a drug-free birth.  

I would appreciate any personal experiences with either hospital that you would be willing to share to help me decide.  Thank you so much!

PS-I'm only in my 12th week, so I have a lot of time...but I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row early.

    Well I think it comes down to where your OB delivers.  I love my OB at Women's Healthcare Assoc. and she delivers at Meridian Park, so that is where I will be having #2.  GL!

    My ob is also at Women's healthcare assoc. and delivers at Meridian park- I have had to had two surgeries a few years ago on my fallopian tubes and had the surgery at Meridian park and they were WONDERFUL. So that is definitely where I am delivering :)

    Im not preggers yet (but hopefully soon) Ive heard good things about both hospitals and I have had friends that have delivered at both.  Im leaning towards Providence myself.  I know once a month they offer tours of their facility for moms to be, i would check it out!

    have you toured them? i didn't deliver here, but that is how i decided in san diego. you can tell a lot just by walking around. i knew in a minute when i toured the hospital i was supposed to deliver at that i did not want to deliver there. it just gave me a dirty feeling.

    A lot of the OBs that deliver at Providence Newberg are pretty aggressive as far as being quick to opt for a C-Section where other docs might try other methods (like induction) first.  I agree with a PP who said it depends on your OB - talk with them and share your desires for a drug free birth and see what they say.  

    I've heard awesome things about Legacy Meridian Park.  My DD was in the Legacy Emanuel NICU after she was born and the staff there rocked.  GL!
