Do you experience those songs that you've been singing along with and then one day, it just means something completely different to you?!? I experienced that today with this song on the way to a friend's baby shower. (I did fine holding Lucy, listening to others talk about baby stuff and their labor experiences, but lost it completely while I was holding her during the opening of gifts. Not sure why that moment caused me to break down.) After getting home, I had to listen to it again. So true.
This song, Before the Morning, is from a Christian artist named Josh Wilson. It has given me a fresh hope...read/listen if you'd like.

I've bolded my favorite parts!
Do you wonder why you have to,
feel the things that hurt you,
if there's a God who loves you,
where is He now?
Maybe, there are things you can't see
and all those things are happening
to bring a better ending
some day, some how, you'll see, you'll see
Chorus:
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming
so hold on, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling,
it's just the dark before the morning
My friend, you know how this all ends
and you know where you're going,
you just don't know how you get there
so just say a prayer.
and hold on, cause there's good who love God,
life is not a snapshot, it might take a little time,
but you'll see the bigger picture
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming
so hold on, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling,
it's just the dark before the morning
yeah, yeah,
before the morning,
yeah, yeah
Once you feel the way of glory,
all your pain will fade to memory
once you feel the way of glory,
all your pain will fade to memory
memory, memory, yeah
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming
com'n, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling,
it's just the hurt before the healing
the pain you've been feeling,
just the dark before the morning
before the morning, yeah, yeah
before the morning

Thank you for sharing! I haven't heard this song before, but I love it now!
P.S. I love "While I'm Waiting" by John Waller...it really helps me remember that things are in God's time, not mine!
"'My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,' says the Lord. 'And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.'" Isaiah 55:8-9

Yes, that is it! I just wanted to turn away from him whenever he took my baby, but eventually I realized there was a purpose beyond my understanding. That song reminds me to come back to him.

Wow...just watched a 10 minute video from Josh Wilson on the meaning behind the song Before the Morning. WOW!
A friend of his, and his friend's wife, went in for an ultrasound to find out the gender of their second baby. That day they found out that part of the baby's heart was not there. Jayken only had 2 chambers of his heart without many of his valves...and his liver was not functioning. The doctor told them that because their son would never have a good quality of life, they wouldn't be able to afford all the things they'd need to do and their marriage would suffer because of the stress...they needed to consider aborting.
They decided to believe that God had it in His hands...since He created Jayken. They gave birth to their little boy (4 months after that ultrasound) and he was given a 2% chance of living. After heart surgery at 4 days old, the doctor gave the baby a 3 month chance of making it...in the hospital. They were not allowed to take him home. But after just 2 weeks, their surgeon, a believe himself, came in and said "We don't know what's going on...but you CAN take him home with you! He's doing better than we thought he would."
At age 2, Jayken had another surgery to get blood to his arms and legs. Now 8 years old, Jayken knows that Jesus saved his heart. He claims that he had a broken heart, but God fixed it.
Doctors believe that close to age 17, Jayken will need to have a heart transplant because of all they've done -- the heart will not make it much past age 17. His parents are completely believing in God and His power to heal Jayken.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G story!

Thank You ladies for the great song ideas. I am sad this holiday ( canadian thanksgiving) as I would have been 31 weeks, and am trying to find something to be thankful this year. This has been a bit of a pick me up!
Thank You!
That is trully beautiful and has me in tears right now... but the good kind of bad tears. Thank you for sharing.
I also just read this article that was posted on mc/pgl that is also beautiful and well written. https://www.intouch.org/magazine/content/topic/one_year
