Hi!
It's me again! I've been through all of the responses I have gotten on a pervious post, and I am slightly overwhelmed.
In case you didn't read my previous post, I am new to Chicago and just found out a week ago I am pregnant. I am trying to find an OBGYN that I will feel comfortable with - and DH would like me to deliver at Prentice.
Womens Practice and Women's Group of Northwestern when I ask for a referral, and I have read some reviews - both seem to have a pretty large patient list and waits seem inevitable at both...So, I guess my question is: What is the difference? Why did you choose over the other?
A little bit about me: This will be my first pregnancy so I'll have lots of questions as I don't have many friends in the city with kids, OBGYN visits make me nervous - so I'm looking for a more nurturing place.
Of course, if you have another recommendation that is affiliated with Prentice - Northwestern that you feel woudl be a good match, please share
I'm already nervous that I'm behind b/c I haven't scheduled a first visit!
Thanks so much ladies, I really appreciate all of your responses!

I highly reccommend Lakeshore OB & GYN. The office is located at 680 N. LakeShore Dr. I see Dr. Bolger, but have met all of the doctors in the practice and like them all.
My experience has been that this practice is very patient, understanding and caring. I've never felt rushed, they answer any and all questions, and always make me feel comfortable.
GL!!
I have been going to NW since 2005, I just saw Dr Chen this past Thursday for a pre-conceiving appointment, she was great! My regular doctor, Dr Yi, recommended her. Dr Chen answered all my questions, went over my history, & took blood to check some things. They deliver at Prentice.

I'm just TTC, but I go to the Northwestern Specialists for Women, to Dr. Salasche. https://www.nswobgyn.com/. I like it because it doesn't feel like a gynecologists' office; it's right on the river, at 900 N. Kingsbury (but delivery is at Prentice), and the office is very modern/Zen. The practice started up a few years ago.
It was originally a larger OBGYN practice, but some of the doctors didn't want to keep delivering babies, and some did, so they split into two groups - one which specializes in delivering babies (this one), and one that specializes in older womens' issues.
I like this because you know that, even if you end up delivering with someone other than your normal OB, you'll still definitely be with a doctor who wants to be delivering babies.
Sorry I can't provide any reviews as to how they handle appointment-making and other pregnancy-related issues; I've only gone to them for typical annual appointments so far. Fingers crossed!
Hi! I recently moved out to Chicago about six weeks ago. I'm currently 18 week pregnant and I'm seeing Dr. Osmundson at Progressive Care for Women. I actually scheduled my first appointment with her while I was driving across country (from Los Angeles) because I needed to scheudule my 1st trimester genetic screening right away (I was already at 12 weeks). The staff was very easy to work with and scheduled my appt right away. In fact, it has been super easy to schedule all appoints. So far, I've had a few appointments and only once I had to wait 20 minutes past my apppt time. You can schedule early morning, lunch and evening appts too.
Dr Osmundson is very personable and answered all of my questions (I had tons since this is my first!). I've also had a few issues (recurring UTIs and a painful ovarian cyst) and Dr. Osmundson took the time to call me several times to check up on me and give me results on certain tests. At this practice, there are several well-known doctors and you get to meet each of them in the event that your doctor is unavailable to be at your birth. So far, I've met one other doctor, Dr. Chen, and he was wonderful. They all deliver at Prentice. Their website is www.pcrw.com
This!
I have seen every doctor in this practice and I adore each of them. They are very personable and provide tons of information. The down side, which made me sad, is that you have no idea who will be on call when you deliver. But they are all great, so you can't lose. Dr. Foley actually delivered my son and did my 6 week follow up, he made me feel very comfortable during delivery and followed my wishes for pain management. This was my 3rd birth, but they still treated me as if it was my first.
I recently delivered a baby with the Women's Group of Northwestern and had a great experience. I went there based on recommendations from this board.
I am going to Dr. Teresa Tam at Lakeshore Women's Health on Halsted (by the British school). I went to her once last year, just as a TTC appointment and am going for my first appointment on Oct 29th. I have only seen Dr. Tam, she was very nice and everyone I talked to was nice (they do have reviews about the office personal being rude, but I haven't experienced that). Their are only 3 women in that practice which is something I wanted. I didn't want an office with a lot of doctor's (because they make you see every doctor just in case). They deliver at prentice or St. Joseph's. Hope this helps.

Dr. Feldstein is the best doctor (of any kind) I've ever seen, hands down. I would and do recommend him to everyone. Unfortunately we live up on the Northshore now so it's not practical to see him for the pregnancy but if I could, I would.
