I guess this is it...it's been a great ride
Well ladies I think I'm officially done BFing Drew at 13.5 months. We've been at 1-2 times a day since after I returned to work in late August. But last Friday I broke my wrist. The cast is making it very hard to do many things - including nursing. I never realized how much I need both hands to position and reposition. I'm very clumsy at it now. That combined with the fact that Drew really doesn't like the way the cast feels means we've had some really rough times nursing this past week. He gets upset, I get upset, and it's no longer the lovely, cuddly, unwind time that it should be for either of us.
Thursday night I had to be at a meeting around bedtime and wouldn't be there to nurse. DH and I decided that maybe this is as good a time as any to officially give it up. Drew's been doing beautifully. I'm not surprised - I know I'm much more attached than he is at this point.
Thanks for all the help and support this past year. I've learned so much from this board! I know I'll be nursing our next LO before long so I'll probably be back. Best of luck to all the mommas out there!

I'm sorry you broke your wrist and are having to deal with that. Congrats on breast feeding your Drew this long! It's an amazing accomplishment and I hope to make it as long as you did. It's OK to be sad to see your breastfeeding relationship end, but know that what you did is amazing.
