  • I have one of their AIO's. I really like it. The part that snaps is a soft stretchy material. It's a great diaper for when you're out & about. Something I'm considering stocking up on for when it's time to put DD in daycare. I have not tried the hybrids though.

  • I have a GroVia AI2 that I got just recently and I like it.  It's fairly trim fitting and does a good job containing poop.  We call it our magic diaper b/c I swear every time I put it on her, she poops so I've never been able to judge it just on urine but we've also haven't had a leak.  I wouldn't mind having a few more.

Edited for clarification on which diaper I have

  • Love them. I actually have the GroBaby Live set. (12 shells and 24 soakers) We just started using them consistently within the last month. DD was too little for them to fit right before then. We have never had a leak and they are very user friendly. They are the only type of dipe I send to daycare. They are starting to become my favorites over all the other diapers we have (many different types of pockets). A very reliable diaper for us.

  • I have a few Grobaby AI2 sets and they are not my favorites.  The soakers get the shell wet and then it stinks so it's not really reusable like they say, at least not for us.  And poo always gets on the cover.  I prefer my pockets.  But the GroVia soakers are backed with PUL, so you probably won't have the stink problem with those.  I figure drying them would be a pain, though.  The Grobaby soakers (no PUL) take forever to dry, and I usually end up putting them through the dryer.  I'd be afraid to do that regularly with PUL.

Good point.  The GroVia/baby shells are different from my other AI2 system (Best Bottoms) in that they have a mesh interior rather than a wipe-able PUL interior.  I've not been able to judge whether or not we can reuse the cover since, as I said, she poops in it/on it every time.  By the way OP, all AI2s are going to get poop on the interior resulting in a cover change while being worn by infants.  That just happens with watery/loose poop.  It sounds like that issue is "outgrown" when babies go to solid foods and have solid poops.

  • I tried so hard to love this diaper because of the concept and the fun colors and prints but it just doesn't work for us.  It always leaks even after being washed 10+ times so I know it's prepped.  It's SUPER bulky.  The cotton inserts aren't stay dry and I don't like DS having damp skin all the time.  And even though the GroVia is supposed to have a higher rise than the GroBaby, we're already on the middle snap and I don't see it lasting to potty training on my long boy.  I'm finally admitting defeat and selling the 2 I have if you want to try them.

  • We primarily have grobaby shells in our stash.  We also have both Grobaby and Grovia liners.  The point about the shell getting smelly is true with the Grobaby liners, but we do not have that problem with the Grovia liners due to the PUL lining. The new Grovia liners are also wider and help prevent leakage onto the shell from looser poo.  I will say that in the beginning we had to change the entire diaper every time he pooped because it would get on the shell. Nevertheless, these are our favorite diapers because they are trim, have NEVER leaked, are well made, have cute patterns and our daycare has no problem using them. It has gotten much easier now that he doesn't poo 5-6 times a day.  We are now on an every 2-3 day cycle! Also, DS is small, only in the 25% percentile, and these fit him before any other diaper. I have heard these are better for babies with a trim physique but tend to have too short of a rise on bigger babies as they get older. The new Grovia shells are supposed to have a higher rise, but I don't have any to compare. Hope this helps!

  • Thebump doesn't want me to reply today.  One more attempt, short version: have them, love them, make up over 50% of our stash.

I've had the opposite experience - no leaks ever, even when the EBF poop gets all over inside. Yes, I have to wash the shells if they get pooped on (I only have GroBaby, so it has the fabric lining), but I have to do that with any cover. I let them dry out if he's just wet, and I've never had a stink problem. I also find them to be very trim, and they fit my little guy before a lot of other pockets/AIOs. I prefer to use stay dry inserts or PFs with fleece liners most of the time, but I haven't had a problem with their inserts when I've used them.

  • I have mostly grobaby and one grovia shell- about 10 in all. I love them. Never have leaks with pee or poop. The poop does generally get on the liner so I have to wash the whole thing, but it does't bother me. The applix is much sturdier than any of the other diapers and I like the colors. I don't think it is the trimmest diaper, but it isn't what I would consider bulky either.

And I really love their biosoakers for trips with no w/d access.

  • They're our "out and about" diapers because they're trim and it's so easy to pack a bunch of inserts vs. a ton of pockets or similar.
