6k left from cosmetology school. Dh once he is done with the military can go to school free in Illinois and not touch his GI bill. If he stays in long enough he can transfer his GI to Dylan.
I had a complete scholarship for undergrad and law school so I don't owe anything but DH owes 35k.
Wow that's awesome.
We both did great with undergrad (I think under 20k combined). It was graduate school that killed us. I had almost 50k from grad school, and DH was similar.

Then you got it down pretty low. have you been making payments for a while? DH deferred the hell out of it as long as he could, which is why he has so much left.

Combined we have $11,000. I've got 10,000 and DH has 1,000. I absolutely hate paying that loan each month...LOL. I graduated 5 years ago and I feel like I've barely made a dent in paying it off. Not to mention I'm a SAHM and not really using my degree. ::sigh::

I know it's not free college, because of the huge sacrifice your DH is making but wow, I would love to have college paid for already. I have my teenage daughter's paid off as long as she goes to school in New York, but I have 3 years left on DS1 and have not even started DS2's.

we've been paying mine for 5 years. DH just finished him MBA (night school) last year and we just went into repayment this month. An extra 250 out of our pockets every month. OOF

Oh I totally agree. It's hard without him very hard at times but I think it's 10-12 years he has to stay in to transfer it. He already is working on his second year of his 6 year contract so I think it is worth it! Neither of our parents could afford to help us at all so we really want to be able to help our kids.
I had a scholarship for undergrad and my mom paid for anything that didn't cover and grants for half of grad school, so I only have $7400 left to pay. DH worked and paid for school as he went so he has none.
My parents paid for my college and DH paid off his loans with an inheritance from his grandpa when he passed. We are blessed, and I hope someday we can do the same for our kids.
The deal was that my parents would pay my UG loans (which totaled 10k and I think are pretty close if not paid off by them now)
and I would pay for grad school. I have my Master's but I had no loans, I was a GA at a Div I university and then worked full time there so they payed for all of it, I just payed the taxes out of pocket.
DH has none. We are currently paying his master's out of pocket

DH owes nothing because his parents paid for his college. I owe $48,000. $10,000 from undergrad just left over from room and board, I had a full paid scholarship, I paid off about $14,000 of my room and board fees while I was in college. $38,000 is from Grad School......ugh!
Ha...we have you all beat! Between my DHs undergrad and med school and my grad school (parents/scholarships paid my UG) we owe over $260k in loans.
In debt for life...
I think we're down to the 50K range. I've paid off 2 of mine and DH's parents took care of 1 of his. He has very little left since he went in-state, the worst is my personal loan - it's still at 30K after 5 years. And I pay extra on it every month!
Somewhere around $50,000. All of it for my graduate school. We've been deferring it, though, since I got pregnant and now I'm back in school part-time. Payments will be about $500 a month. Ugh. I won't even be using my degree for another 7 years or so, since I'm a SAHM. I'm seriously considering applying for game shows so that I can pay the loans off with winnings, hehe.
Holy shiz... I didn't pay a dime of my undergrad degree and I just paid off the last $4000 from my masters earlier this year.
$0 for me!
Forgot to add $0 for DH as well. He completed his BS on a 75% Florida Bright Futures and the rest was out of pocket as he went. Geez, I feel really lucky after readying the numbers in this post!
None right now. I think DH has his paid off. I've only finished 2 years and that was paid for by my mom(one semester) and the rest through a military spouse education program. I'm looking into finishing my BS in the next year so with 61 credits and the school I'll go to will be about $26K. DH is looking into getting is Masters too.
At this point, I think we're around 50k. I didn't even finish my degree, so I feel like it was a huge waste of money (even though I plan on going back soon). DH took out a lot more in loans than I did.
$0! I went to a 2 year college and I was the oldest of 3 and my mom was single so I got a lot of state grants. I think I took out $4,500 but paid that off years ago. I'd like to go back for a biology degree but the idea of student loans does not interest me.
I don't owe anything the military paid for my BS and they are also paying for my Masters. I'm double dipping now using Tuition Assistance and GIBill whatever is left will go to DD, and I started a 529 for her as well.
Over 100k for just mine H's is all paid off. He was paying on it during college and paid the rest I think the year after he graduated. He got a lot of financial aid and scholarships to play baseball.

DH and I are both doctors...between his undergrad loans from a private school (mine are paid off) and two sets of med school loans, we have more than you guys. We'll be 60 if we take the full 30 years to pay them off, but I've budgeted so we'll have them paid off in 8-10 years.
I don't know exactly what the balance is right now, but it's around $35-40K.
That's just mine; I had no loans from undergrad, but major loans from my masters degree. DH got paid to get his Ph.D. (lucky!!) and had a small amount from undergrad that we'll have paid off in the next few months.
I consolidated my loans at a ridiculously low rate -- less than 2% -- so those are at the bottom of our list of things to pay off (as in, pay more than the minimum).

me: zero
H: around 20k
my read shelf:
Almost 50k
DH= 0. Parents paid for his BA and Masters.

Me: around 35K. Nothing for UG (My parents paid), but I went back and got an elementary ed degree, and then two master's degrees.
DH: $0. WE paid them off years ago when we refinanced the house.
$0. I worked two part-time jobs during my undergrad work. I had a full-time and a part-time job during my graduate work.
Dh on the other hand, is another story...
full athletic with supplemental academic scholarships for undergrad
grad = about 40k. i'm hoping to defer and forbear it til i die or win the lottery. whichever comes first.
