Anyone else getting the "I just look fat" bump?

I have a little bump of lovely organs being pushed out that I can no longer suck in. I only weigh about 119 so I definitely look like a have a pooch in tight shirts. Unfortunently, it just looks like a gut is coming in lol. Anyone else developing this lovely "baby bump"? I don't mind it at all, but I wish everyone knew I was pregnant and not putting on some chubs. I'd actually rather wear tight shirts and show it off than cover it up and pretend it's not there... I'm proud my little baby is growing and stretching out in there! :)

Re: Anyone else getting the "I just look fat" bump?

  • lol Yep. DH actually made a comment about my "bump" today getting bigger. I still consider is a baby bump since the baby is the reason behind it!! :)

  • Sometimes I look like I did before I was preggo, but sometimes my bump looks so big, but I think it's bloat. I definitely feel different though. And my jeans aren't fitting quite the way they used to.
  • Yep, I have that, and I'm about your size so i definitely notice it more. Not that I mind, but the MS is actually making me loose weight, so its odd to me that I'm down to 115 and have a bigger belly :) But I am noticing more actual bump down lower, so that makes up for it in my book.

  • I, too, have lost weight and gained a belly. I lost 5 lbs but gained 5 inches. It doesn't look so pregnant though, so I'm wearing loose tops. But I agree...I want to show it off! And I do call it "baby" rather than "bloat" because I would NOT have gained five inches in my waist if it weren't due to this baby. = )
  • I also am around your weight and have the same bump. I teach aerobics so everyone in my regular teaching job, high school, is used to seeing me skinny and in shape. I have already had 2 people comment on my belly and I have been able to ward them off. Okay one I slipped and told, which I was so mad at myself for, and the other I laughed off. I can't wait till it's an okay time to tell people it's just gonna be so much easier!

  • yep, loving the stretchy pants right now, going to get some sort of belly band this weekend and some maternity clothes, I may not need the maternity clothes for a few more weeks, but we live about an hour from any stores that carries maternity clothes!

  • Same here. Sometimes I don't feel like I really have a 'bump' but I still feel fat, other times I look and see that it really does look like a bump. Either way, I'm ready for it to totally look like a baby bump!
  • Haha, I've had the "I'm not pregnant' bump for about... 6 years now! I am constantly asked by little kids and people who don't know me (elderly mostly) if I'm pregnant. I'm excited for this "I'm not pregnant" bump to round out (and be in the right spot) so I can have a "I AM PREGNANT" bump :) It'll probably take longer to actually see my bump since I'm 189lbs and carry ALL my weight in my stomach - but hey, I'm pregnant, I'll get a bump eventually!! :)

  • Definitely.. I tried on my usual size in a dress last night, and looked like a sausage.  I have a pooch in all of my shirts too.

  • yes! i'm also a small girl and my belly looks so weird. Fortunately I've found that blazers generally hide it. I feel like I look like I'm a college girl who drinks too much and eats too much after bar food.

  • Me too!!!  I can't wait either:)
  • I was saying me too in regards to dsrossing's reply.  Sorry I haven't figured out how all of these post tools work.
  • Totally. And it just happened in the past week. I can no longer button my jeans or my shorts. I am running out of clothes that will comfortably hide my "bump." It is at this point that I realize that most of my clothes are form-fitting -- boo!

  • ugh. yes. I wish it was the real bump, because now I just feel chunky and all my clothes are uncomfortable and unflattering. I started using the belly band this week, though and that's been helpful.
  • yes, i lost almost 10 lbs due to severe m/s and several of my pants don't fit.  can't wait til i can flaunt it!!
