TO GET HOT AND STEAMY? lol My love won't leave me alone and I really don't know what to consider before jumping him. Id like to be on some kind of birth control first. Should I follow what the nurse said..no intercourse for 6weeks? I figure its just time to heal up but theres no way every woman waited 6 weeks. COME ON?!
Re: How do I decide if I'm ready..
OK so here's my advice.
WAIT 6 WEEKS. Even after 8 weeks (and I had a c section) it wasn't comfortable(red: PAINFUL). If you wanna start before then I would at least wait until the lochia bleeding stops.
Now having said that.. whenever you DO decide you are ready be prepared to go very slow and use lots of lube. Seriously it's like the Sahara down there.
...and YES. For the love of Pete use BC unless you are trying for 2 under 1?

Jenn is a very smart woman. Please listen to all of the above. She is right.
I honestly can't believe that some women want to do the deed so soon after childbirth!!
Let your body REST. The reason they ask you to wait 6 weeks is because you have high risk of infection before that point, and its important to be checked at your follow up appointment to be sure you are healing correctly before getting busy.
Listen to your doctor. They aren't telling you that just to torture your husband... or apparently you.
And ditto on what Jen said about being prepared for it not to work the way it used to. We *tried* at 8 weeks and it was awful.

I waited 4 weeks (or about). I just waited for the bleeding to stop first. I talked to my Dr. first and he said that since I did not tear, I could go on and do the deed:) He put me on BC@ 4 weeks PP.
I feel you on the whole can't keep your hand off him thing! I could not either! Just do as Jenn said and TAKE IT SLOW!! AND LOTS of lube! It took about 4 weeks for it to feel "normal"
