2nd Trimester

Anyone have a breech baby turn?????

Had an u/s today at my 24 week appointment and she is breech.  DD was already head down by now.  Has anyone had a breech baby turn in time for delivery?  What are the chances she will turn?  I know they can do a procedure to turn her at around 37 weeks if she has not turned yet but my concern is that will be too late!  DD came at 37 weeks naturally and chances are this one will come early too!

Re: Anyone have a breech baby turn?????

  • I would say relax.  It is still really early and even w/ your first it probably switched around and you didn't realize it.  Most babies turn in time, although I don't know the percentage.

  • I think they have plenty of time to turn. my baby is doing circle in there right now. I can feel him flip all over.

  • I want to say that my 2nd was breech until at least 32 weeks or so (I can't remember exactly off of the top of my head).  I remember there was a website I used to find exercises to help him turn.  I think it was spinningbabies.com

I wouldn't worry about it just yet.  There is still plenty of time and plenty of room for her to turn :)

  • Emma was breech up until 32 weeks. Then she turned and let me tell you that was a weird feeling. You have plenty of time and try not to worry about it.

  • Most babies at the 24w mark are breech as opposed to head down.

My DS who was 10lbs at birth didnt flip until 35w.

You have PLENTY of time. Don't worry.

  • My baby was breech until 37 weeks last time. It's early. At my last u/s, this baby flipped four times in the hour I was there!
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut
  • At my last appointment (last Friday) Cailyn was breech. My MW said not to worry, we would only be concerned if she hasn't turned by 35 weeks. I wouldn't sweat it mama!
  • My dd was breech up until 33 weeks. Then she slipped headdown and OA. :) Just relax. I wouldnt even start thinking pelvic tilts until after 32 weeks... Theres still PLENTY room for them to flipflop! Relx mama!

  • My 21 week u/s showed a breech baby. Doc said not to worry she can turn over quickly. Which makes sense since 4 days prior she was head down. Don't worry, she can still flip herself over.

  • You have tons of time.  I want to say most babies turn by 34 weeks.  DD turned around 34 or 35 weeks.

  • 24 is really early to worry. They didn't have me do anything until 34 weeks.  I did eventually have an external version at 37 weeks.
