Summary: Duke girl slept with guys and then made a power point presentation detailing her encounters and rating the men.
A lot of people are calling her a slut and such. So, what do you think?
I honestly think it's funny. I also don't like the term slut or slutty. If you are capable of understanding what you are getting youself into then so be it. Who are we to judge how many partners a person has had. She is not being irresponsible.

I think she's a moron for making the powerpoint. Of course its going to get out and your reputation will be forever ruined.

Also, I hate how it's ok for a guy to have many sexual partners but when a girl does, it's slutty. Stupid double standard.

What was it for? A research project? No one would be calling the person an idiot if it were a guy who had done it - They would think it was funny.
It was for her own entertainment. And you'd be damned to find a girl I know who thinks it would be funny if a guy had done it.
Anything more than 1 partner and if especially if you didn't wait until you were married...J/k :-) I don't think "slutiness" (sp?) is a number, I think it is an attitude. And I don't think most "sluts" are truly sluts, I think they have a self esteem issue. IMPO.

It isn't a numbers thing - its an attention thing, IMO. The more you "advertise" your sexuality, the more easy you look. I can totally understand wanting sex - hell, when done right it's AMAZING, no? But, broadcasting conquests or notches in your belt like this just makes you look like a fool.
This PP presentation looks like more of a way to appear like she has her act together, and is pleased/proud of what she's done... when in reality, she's probably JUST LIKE one of those girls who ends up with an eating disorder or cutting herself due to feelings of no control.

My friends and I have always been very open and descriptive so I look at the power point as no worse than talking about it in person....just a lot funnier.
Not really. Some guys throw money around and it's just how they act. This is actually a total turn off for me and for some girls it's not. I have had guys tell me they can buy me things and tried to buy me things before they even got my number, pre-marriage of course.

The girl didn't mean for the PP to get out to the world, it was for her and her friends. I would not want to be judged on some of the conversations and email exchanges I've had with my girlfriends. Yikes.
The slut debate is silly and subjective. To each his/her own.

First off....she is weirdo for documenting her sexual liaisons in a PowerPoint format. That's just odd behavior. Referring to them as 'Subjects'?

Second, she is a fvcking idiot for sending it to her friends. For acting all intellectual by writing out a sexual research study and then sending it to her friends as a good read is just bad form.
I don't think she is slutty necessarily...sort of (she's on the cusp) She's just a total idiot.
If the sex was consentual, then it's not for us to judge. Who the f cares how many people she had sex with? Who even cares if she was paid? She wanted to do, they wanted to do. It's none of our damn business.
Sex is just something people do, like eating, sleeping, and pooping, not a method to judge, label and control others. Once we all realize that, we'll be better off as a society.
Wow, I think what she did was funny as he!!, lol! She is a little stupid if she didn't think it could go viral, but its funny nonetheless. As for the number thing, I dont think the number itself makes someone a slut. Attitude and how you carry yourself play a huge role in determining sluttiness. Plus, the number should be considered in relation to the person's age and when they started having sex.
For example, if you started having sex at 16 and had 15 partners by the time you were 20, that may be a lot, but if you started at 16 and had that same amount of partners by the time you were 30, thats very different! You also need to consider that as you get older, if you are single, sex happens a lot more than when you were 16, so if you are in your mid 30's and still single, you will likely have had a lot more sexual partners and that doesnt necessarily make you a slut.

True, but most men don't see it that way, and the poster saw no shame in creating the powerpoint either, so it can be deemed hillarious.
So because a lot of people are assho!es, it's okay to laugh along with them?
And if you think that "most men" don't see it that way... well, I think you need to start spending time with better men.

as I said on P&CE, I think she's trashy for doing this. And a guy who did the same thing would also be trashy.

It was actually for her senior thesis and she might be facing legal action because she apparently used images of some of the guys and didn't talk about them anonymously.
I'd like to see a pic of her..and i actually think this is pretty funny (silly).

my bad - no it wasn't. It was reported as her "thesis" on the news I listened to this morning. But reviewing articles about it, it appears that it was just "thesis-like."
Truth is a defense to a defamation suit. If they did sleep with her, making that fact public isn't defamation.
But the whole thing is pretty classless on her part. I don't like to label anyone as "slutty" but sounds like she's made more then her fair share of bad decisions.
Most importantly - she slept with some hot guys.
I was thinking I didn't care how many people she slept with, but then I thought how upset I would be if this were my daughter. I would like to believe in sexual openness, but I really don't. I will just refrain from judging her.
Also interesting is the fact she talked about shame and embarrassment with some of them. It is very honest.
I think foolish, irresponsible sleeping around makes you a "not-so-respectable" person (don't like the term "slut").
I'm not a huge supporter of sleeping around with people anyway, but if someone is going to do that, it's probably not a smart idea to make a presentation about their partners. Just seems "off" to me. Sadly, the guys involved with this girl now have their personal business made public, which has to be embarassing!
