How many of you nap when baby naps? I keep hearing that when it comes to sleep "just sleep when baby sleeps" but I'm pretty sure it doesn't go that way..

the ONLY time i sleep when he sleeps is late at night and early morning, he is usually sleeping from 12-2 then he eats then he's bac up at 4, goes back to sleep until 630-7 and then he's bak up at 930-10 and im awake from then to about 2am
i figured he will start sleeping through the night soon enough and i know im gonna need to stay up durin the day then so no need to change my entire routine for a few weeks
I nap with baby ALL the time! But I'm a stay at home mom and DH doesn't care if the house is messy. It's getting better now that he's sleeping better at night, but if he has a rough night sleeping and he keeps me up, I'll nap with him at some point during the day. He always takes WAY longer naps when I sleep with him too.
I do every chance I get! I love naps. Even more than sleeping in! DD #1 is a really early riser so we get up, get things accomplished, and then have a nice mid-day break.
I did more so w/ DD. I did a few times w/ DS (when DD was sleeping too), but not as often. Its good advice, IMO, b/c w/ the first the sleeplessness of caring for an infant is exhausting. G/L!
I've napped with DS a few times. What normally happens is he falls asleep while I'm wide awake and I'll move to a safe spot to lay down and as I get comfy and start to pass out, he'll start to wake up.

I nap when she goes down again in the morning (around 7).
But other than that, I'm up doing things around the house when she naps.
This for me. In the morning DD gets up around 6 for her 1st bottle and goes back to sleep till 9 and so do I. Then the rest of the time I do stuff around the house when she naps, I try to shower when she sleeps, etc.
I only did once or twice. I am not a napper and she had STTN anyways. The first 2 weeks DH was at home so if I needed to sleep because I was crazy with worry during the night and keeping myself awake.
im not a napper. i have to be falling down tired to sleep during the day. plus, if i napped every time he did, id never get anything done around the house. 1ht.
I can't sleep when LO naps. It never fails, he always naps when I get an energy boost so I get housework, laundry, bill paying, etc. done. I have napped with him maybe 1 time so far.
Of course, my LO has a "my mommy is almost asleep" instinct...I have laid down while he is napping a few times and, no joke, as soon as I am starting to drift into the land of nod, he starts crying lol.

I MIGHT get 30 mins in, but there is still so much to do around the house, that I can't think of napping any longer... and inevitably when I attempt to, LO is ready to awaken.

I have napped a couple of times when DD does. Lately she has not been a good napper at all (only on me), so it hasn't really worked. I would love a nap some days.

I would love to nap with DS but he sleeps enough in the morning that I sleep after his AM feeding and I am fine for the day...granted he isn't too fussy and I overall haven't had many issues with him disruptung my schedule.
When on maternity leave, I ALWAYS napped with them in the morning. Sometimes during both their early morning name and late morning/afternoon nap. There were many a day where I'd still be in my pj's at 1:00 when DH would come home for lunch.

When DD naps I get to choose to do one of 4 things; eat, shower, clean or nap. Napping is usually last on the list of importance, so it hasn't happened often.
This is me as well. I do it in that order as well. Usually, I cant even do 2 of those before DD needs my attention, so I have probably napped 2 x since DD was born (she will turn 3 months this Sunday) and they were like 15 mins.
every couple days I have a nap with my LO. Probably only an hour of me sleeping after feeding, pumping, changing and falling asleep. But I need the extra sleep every couple days!
Re: How many of you ACTUALLY
My whole life, I've never been able to nap.
Having a baby didn't change it one bit. Since he was born, I've probably managed to nap maybe 3 times with him.

I did with DD1. She would take a three hour nap in the morning. Granted, it was in my arms and we'd be on the couch but whatever. It worked.
This time around, not at all. I have DD1 to keep me busy. I'm lucky if I get an hour of quiet time while both of them nap.

you are correct.
for me it, unfortunately, does NOT go that way...
