DD ate Tums....

OK so I'm packing to go away this weekend, and my dd got a hold of the tums container and she ate 1.  Do you think i should call the pedi?  Has anyone's LO done this????

    It just says keep out of reach of children..  it says it contains 320mg of Calcium and 10mg of Magnesium.

    You could call poisen control to be sure. They'll have a faster and better answer than your pedi.

     I bet it says that more for the choking hazard than anything.

    I googled it, and lots of people are saying they actually give them to their toddlers for calcium...I hadn't heard of doing that before, but it looks like it's probably ok.  Several of them also said that they'd call poison control when their kid ate tums and that poison control said they'd have to eat many for it to be an issue.  Hope that helps.  You could still call yourself, for the peice of mind.

    As a child I had a milk allergy and the Doctor had me taking two tum a day for my calcium.

    My ds has done this twice. She will be perfectly fine. I have spoken with Poison Control about it twice. No worries :)
