s/o 2u2 and christmas: what are you getting for #2?

There are a bunch of things that we want to get for our 2 year old, but the baby already has so many toys that were hand me downs from his brother, plus his birthday is in November.  I am not sure what to get him.

  • We're doing anywhere chairs for both.

  • Ellie is going to be about 10 months old, so I know from DD1 that she will be most interested in bags, boxes, tissue paper, and bows. We're planning on stuffing a few bags full of tissue paper and bows and wrapping a box full of tissue paper for her to open. She will also get a few of DD1's toys from when she was a baby wrapped up. I will put a special ornament in her stocking (we do this every year), and probably a small toy like a teether or a My Little Pony or something. Between grandparents, aunts, uncles, and extended family, she'll get plenty of new stuff, so we're going minimalistic at home.

    Our family is complete!

  • Last year DS2 was only 4.5 months old, so we didnt really get him much. We had so many toys and clothes, etc. So we got him a couple of little toys, teethers, pretty much all things we could put in his stocking. Then I also got him clothes in the next size up (though he didnt really need them!- I just wanted to get him something).

This year I think we are going to get them each some small things. (DS1 loves Lightning McQueen and DS2 loves Mickey Mouse, so we will get them some stuff with that) and then we are just going to get them one big joint gift. I think we are going to get them one of those two seater Power Wheels cars so they can drive each other around.

  • Wow... I haven't even thought about it yet. When DD was born, we started a gift tradition with her. Each year we buy her new Christmas jammies that she gets to open on Christmas Eve and fill her stocking with little goodies (mostly food, bath stuff, etc.). Then, she gets 3 gifts for Christmas morning. One thing that she needs, the one thing she wants most, and one thing to experience. Last year it was snow clothes/boots that she needed, a baby doll that she wanted, and a zoo membership to experience.

We will continue this for both kiddos this year. But I haven't yet thought about what we will actually get them.

  • #2 will be one month old at Christmas, and believe it or not I have gifts for her already but not for DD or DH. #2 is getting stuff I want her to have anyway but that she won't use until she's older. Two blankets to match her room, a security blanket/teddy bear thing, a super cute pack of onesies that I couldn't resist. Other than I plan to get her a CD player for her room, and a onesie that says Little Sister which will match a T-shirt for DD that says Big Sister. (Yeah, I'm cheesy like that. lol Gotta do it while they're too young to protest.)

  • DS2 will only be 3 months.  I'm not sure what we'll get him.  Probably just some small things.  Maybe a wrap up diapers and wipes lol.

  • last year we got the twins tons of new pacis :) They needed more - so we just got a bunch and wrapped them up, put in their stockings, etc.  that way Griffin got to see them open presents and not think Santa stiffed them - and they got things they needed and we didn't waste money.

this year i'm considering getting the twins a case of water bottles and a case of wipes - b/c they LOVE playing with water bottles, and with the wipe packages - today Gibby spent 20 minutes playing with 3 wipe packages!  They don't need any toys- so i figure this will be fun for them- and then we can use them :) lol
