what to do with old crib mattress?

Finn is getting a real big boy bed in the next couple of months and so we're getting rid of his old crib mattress.  I wasn't sure, if a crib mattress (3 yrs old, btw) something you can donate or just toss?

    I'm going to say toss it, unless there's a shelter that wants it. I'm going to imagine it's seen its fair share of puke, pee and poop.

    If you have had a mattress pad on it, it's probably been well-protected.  You can sell on CL or donate.

    FWIW--I'm keeping an extra crib mattress under our bed in case someone comes to visit and I have to turn over Alec's room to guests.

    I'm sure most churches would love to take it as a donation.  They'd probably even pick it up for you.  I know mine would.

    I'm still debating what I'm doing with B's old mattress.  Right now, it's under his bed.  I'll either donate it or try and sell it on CL. Depends on how lazy I am!
