A few weeks ago I posted my frustration w/ laying DS down and keeping him asleep. We're still having this problem.
Specifically, during the day he sleeps great, 1-3 hours in the swing. At night is a different story. It takes me almost an hour to get him to sleep, keep him asleep and then lay him down while he remains asleep. Even if I can do that b/f giving up, he wakes up after 20 minutes [maybe 45 min]. Last night I just gave up after putting him down and him waking up 20 minutes later; I held him while DH and I watched TV. FWIW, I cosleep exclusively, which I wonder if that's where I went wrong. At least w/ DD I layed her down on her own on occasion. I *just* starting doing that w/ DS and it fails every.single.time.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. I tried heating his bassinet with a rice sock. I tried laying him on his stomach, side, and back. He's swaddled. I nurse him to sleep (so he's full). I shush him; I rock him in his bassinet; I leave my hand on him; EVERYTHING. DD had a bedtime by this age, DS does not (at least not w/o one of us holding him while he sleeps). This is not how I envisioned my evenings, especially since I return to work next week and my evenings will consist of preparing for the next day.
I really need some advice b/f I lose my mind. He's currently kicking
around on the couch cooing. ![]()
