opinions please!!

Hi ladies!

   I have been working with an egg donor clinic the past few months. Well today I recevied a call saying that a family selected me to donate! I am soooo excited! The only thing is the mom-to-be has a sister who has a sperm donor and that is a closed case, so it is very important to the family that this be an open case. Im am 50/50 on my decision.. I put myself in the shoes of the potential child, and I would want it to be open just in case I wanted to find the egg donor..But having a family, I just dont know how I would feel 18-20 years down the road if this child came seeking me. I am unsure how my husband and children would feel...When I spoke to my husband about it his first reaction is it be closed. I have the weekend to figure it out..  What are your thoughts on this?

    Tough call...

    I dont really know what to say, or what I would do. I mean, the child may never want to find you, but it may. Do you think you'd ever be curious to meet to the life you helped create? I think I would be...but can't say for sure.

    Do your children know you are doing this? Or if they're too young now, will you ever tell them?

    It sounds like you and your DH are leaning towards closed, so I would stick with that.  You are awesome to donate, and I am sure that there is a family out there that doesn't mind it being closed.  Good luck and I'm sure you'll make the right decision for your family. =)
