Well, I have a pretty big bump. I really don't want to buy a dress for this wedding because it is DH's friends who I don't know that well (or like for that matter) and I know I won't be staying that long.
The weather forecast is mostly sunny and 60s in the afternoon. Can I wear black leggings, and a sweater dress, with black suede, wedge-heeled, knee-high boots? Or does that sound too casual? I live in Wisconsin and people don't really dress up for weddings around here (not compared to where I am from, at least).
Re: What to wear to a wedding??
Day wedding or Night wedding? How formal/fancy was the invite? What is DH wearing?
I have a wedding this weekend and am wearing one of those "infinity" dresses, you know that you can tie a million diff ways. It will last me the whole pregnancy and after. I am going to tie it strapless or off the shoulder so it's dressier. But it's super comfy cause it's made of that t-shirty material.
Where do you live? I grew up in Appleton and we have a home in Milwaukee.
I agree with the PP that the logistics really matter as far as time of the wedding, invite, etc. You could always get a plain black maternity dress from Target? Those are easy to dress up...But I probably wouldn't be running out to buy something new if I were you either! So if worse comes to worse, go with the aforementioned sweater option. Those boots sound cute
We live in Wrightstown, and LO will be born in Appleton (AMC)
DH is from here and that is why we are here now, but we plan on getting back to Colorado before LO starts school.
I looked at the Infinite dress, was yours $100? I am always hesitant to buy clothes, especially dresses, online. But it looks really cool!
The wedding ceremony is at 1pm (we will not attend), then cocktails at 5, and dinner at 7 with reception to follow. It is not a plated dinner, it is a fried chicken dinner served "family style" (pretty standard around here... hence the ANNOYING comments: "When's the chicken dinner??" when DH and I were first engaged).
DH will most likely wear his favorite black and dark grey pinstripe suit.
I think the outfit sounds find, but I'd add some pretty jewelry. I've been to weddings where people wear jeans, so I get the casual thing.
I also think that as a pregnant woman, no one expects too much of your wardrobe.
