I had a c/s with DD, and I had an anterior placenta.
It never crossed my mind about the "cutting through the placenta". I had a great recovery. No one mentioned anything being different due to the anterior placenta I had.
I had a c-section for other reasons, and I had an anterior placenta. My OB mentioned off hand that the risk of blood loss is slightly higher but something they see ALL the time and not anything to be concerned about in the slightest bit.
I'm having a c-section almost a month early due to Complete Placenta Previa. I was REALLY terrified at first but I have gotten used to the idea.
They have been telling me that there's a risk for a lot of blood loss which could result in a hysterectomy (my worst nightmare at 20 years old and wanting more kids). Please note, they HAVE to tell us this at some point and the chances of it happening are low.
There are a LOT of women that have successful c-sections with placenta previa
Have u found out when your cesarean is scheduled yet? They are doing mine at 36 weeks...
I really like this article (several pages long) about placenta issues at babycenter's website:
I had an emergency c-section at 33w4d with DD#2 due to a non-moving anterior placenta previa (partial previa). My OB did have to cut through the placenta but both DD and I did okay on blood loss. I was close to needing a transfusion but I also had a pretty big bleed from my previa.
Good luck and I pray that your previa resolves itself.

I have a complete previa and am scheduled to have my CS at 37 weeks. Thank you, Mrsridenour, for the website. I haven't really been too scared about my upcoming CS, but after reading our posts I've gotten kinda uncomfortable and know I should (maybe) look up more. Sooo...on a less emotional day for me...LOL... I will definately check out that site. Thanks again.
Re: Anyone here having a Csection do to a low lying placenta/anterior placenta?

This exactly.
