help me with my newest nail polish obsession :)

i want to find a nice gray color, flat no frost (by that i mean a matte color w/o any shimmer).

any suggestions?

and madelyn, i know you'll pop in, i think you have a gray you like, right?

Hmm..no, I've never used gray I don't think. I have seen OPI's Kyoto Pearl in the store before and my assistant uses it sometimes. I don't think it is dark enough for what you are wanting, though. She usually does two-three coats and gets a light gray...

There isn't any shimmer, though..

Ohhh I found one for you, OPI's Give Me the Moon. It is darker than Kyoto Pearl...no shimmer but maybe a hint of shine. I don't think I've seen in IRL, I have seen it at the store...looks like a good color of gray, though..

LOL! I really only know OPI, though. I've always been obsessed with OPI. And I love Linocoln Park After Dark, too..which is probably why it is on my toes like 80% of the time. I have tons and tons of bottles of (OPI) nail polish but pretty much only use LPAD, California Raspberry and Cajun Shrimp.

I really should branch out into my own stash...

You might want to check Rescue Beauty Lounge. You can order online but there are 2 brick and mortar salons in NY. They have 2 nice grays - concrete jungle and stormy.

Have you ever tried OPI's "You Don't Know Jacques" worms? I wore all last spring and absolutely loved it! It doesn't look very gray in the bottle but on my nails it was a perfect matte gray. And I wore Strawberry Margerita all summer long!!

I'm obsessed w/ grey this season too. I have a good color on right now - it's called Playa de Platinum or something like that - it's Essie. It's totally matte. There's another darker grey by Essie that I love but I can't remember the name of it right now...
